Death is calm. It is a sweet feeling of relief that reassures you that your tiring life is coming to an end.

As water fills your lungs you get anxious. Then, every struggle fades away as you sink deeper, while your body fades away to the depths of the sea and the cold water that surrounds you leaves your sight as everything turns black.

You start to lose all your senses one by one as the rock tied on your leg leads you to the bottom of the sea, where the sand hugs your now lifeless body for the last time.

At first I thought that this was the end and I was right. The end of Kira Kim. My former self.

As the ice cold water splashed my face, I woke up startled. The environment before me was a sight very different from what I've been used to seeing. As if I traveled to another era.

The middle aged lady in front of me wore a plain ragged dress and had her grey hair combed into a braid. Her face was full of lines that betrayed her age and her expression was that of disgust.

The room had a wooden floor that was dirty and broken while the furniture were old and run down. I took a look at the mirror behind the woman and noticed that I was somebody else.

What I saw was a little kid with shiny green eyes and bright red hair. A skinny dirty child with milky white skin full of scars and a pretty face.

The woman disrupted me by slapping my cheek and with anger she told me

" how dare you ignore me! If only you could die peacefully like that whore who gave birth to you ".

Her last sentence left me dumbfounded but I couldn't do anything about it. I stayed silent and just nodded. I can't believe that I just nodded to a woman who insulted my mother.

Even If I'm not this child, I can still feel how miserable I am. The woman grabbed my arm and forcefully dragged me to the entrance of the building. I could now understand that I was in an orphanage.

There are dozens of kids there but no one even spared me one glance. It seems that I was an outcast.

A big decorated carriage stopped in front of us and a knight stood by the side of the door escorting a seemingly rich man.

He was a middle aged handsome man with pitch black hair and cold grey eyes. He was dressed in a fancy silk suit decorated with golden embroidery. This man who had just stepped out of the carriage, was now in front of me.

I could sense the jealousy of the other kids as he bent to reach my height and stretched out his hand. Still confused and surprised, I raised my gaze and kept speechless.

The man in front of me with a calming deep voice asked me

" Do you want to be my daughter? ".

Then I felt that I could finally feel how it was to have a family. A feeling that I never experienced even in my last life. A wave of happiness washed over me and I gave him my arm as I nodded happily.

Then, this man smiled and said

" My name is Asher Herion Grey. What is yours? "

And I suddenly realised that I had no name.

" Please grant me one "

is what I said with my soft voice. Then he stood up and lifted me with one arm and put me inside the carriage. It was the first time that I had ever sat inside a luxurious carriage.

I saw through the window the other kids crying because they were neglected one more time and felt like I could be there right now.

Asher, disrupted my thoughts with a name.
