Chapter Thirty one

Why am I sleeping beside Kyle?

We are not even at home.

I stood up and felt my legs going numb. What happened to me? I crawled my way to the bathroom and washed my face. I looked at the mirror to check if I washed off the cleanser completely and noticed something strange.

I big bruise on my neck.

How did I get that?

My still numb legs struggled their way to the shower where I cleaned myself.

Then, I went back to bed and slept soundly.

Suddenly I felt Kyle's arms wrap around me and locking into an embrace.

I got angry. How dare he take advantage of me and hug me peacefully as if I had consented !

"Kira?"

Kyle said still half asleep.

I broke free from the embrace and wore my clothes.

Kyle stood up anxiously and asked.

"What's wrong?"

"Don't dare ask that!"

"What?"

"You dare abandon me in the middle of nowhere. I get kidnapped which was orchestrated by my step sister. I get injected with aphrodisiac medicine and you suddenly decide to look for me. On top of that you take advantage of the situation to have your way with me!"

"Kira-"

"And You hug me as if everything is ok!"

"Let me e-"

"Explain? You have the nerve to try and explain?!

I think that what you did was different from what the contract stated."

Kyle lowered his head and I walked out of the hotel room leaving him behind.

I drove back home and felt extremely tired.

I was sleepy with headache.

Am I having a cold?

I took some aspirin and fell asleep.

Kyle came home but I was too tired to go see him. He was quiet. I heard his footsteps stop before my door. He was saying something but my head hurt so much that I didn't have the capacity to understand his words .

My head hurt so much that I started sobbing. Kyle may have heard me. I want water.

I stood up slowly while I was dizzy. I limped to the door and used all my strength to open it.

My legs were going numb and so did my knees and arms ...

As I opened the door I faced Kyle. He seemed surprised.

"Kira"

I need water...

I was about to black out. I held Kyle's shoulder as my legs gave up and my eyes were gradually reaching blindness.

The last thing I heard was Kyle shouting my name.

"KIRA!"
"ARE YOU OKAY? KIRA!"

I feel cold but my body is burning hot.

I feel cold water being dripped all over my body But everything is dark.

Am I dead now?

I have died many times I would have known right away.
