A year has passed since Killion left for the battlefield and my days keep passing by meaninglessly. I still hunt to eat and wear rugs. At night I sneak out of the mansion and practice magic and swordsmanship at the forest.

I crafted my own sword with the help of Speth.
Toren and Jace keep mistreating me in the mornings and Asher avoids me out of embarrassment. I don't interact with the personel of the mansion because I clean up my chambers on my own and I take care of myself.

Today is my birthday. As Kira of course. April 13th. In this world its my twelveth birthday.

On such occasion I have to celebrate. Even if I have to do it alone. I mean this family wouldn't really know my birthday let alone care for it. I made a plan to sneak out at night and go to the festival.

I decided to spend my day studying in the library. I went out of the room and with confident steps I reached to the large library of this mansion.

I went to the very last bookshelf and studied several books about finance, history, maths and philosophy. The books about philosophy look brand new. Like nobody cared about opening them. In a matter of a few hours I had already read the whole bookshelf.

When you hunt to eat, you gain sharp senses and mine were not wrong. I sensed someone behind the bookshelf.
I remained calm and said

" Come out. I know you are here".

I heard slow and confident steps hitting the wooden floor, approaching me in a calm yet confused manner. The person in front of me was none other than Jace. As always his facial expressions betrayed his hatred for me. I mockingly greeted him.

" Hello brother."

" We are not related!"

"What do you mean brother? We may not be biological siblings but still since I am adopted in this family, l am your sister."

"My sister died long ago!"

"This is why you shouldn't stick to the past brother. Anyway! Why are you spying on me? Were you perhaps waiting for the opportunity to tell me that we are not related? Because I can totally keep up with the conversation."

"Nonsense! I... Why are you here?"

" Why do people go to libraries?"

" Answer me!"

" To study... But how does that concern you?"

" Do you even know how to read?"

" Why do you care? If I didn't know would you teach me?"

" Never!"

Jace took a step closer angrily ready to slam me to a wall. I grabbed his neck and  got serious.

His body got temse and his eyes got teary. I stepped closer to his ear and with tickling whispers I warned him.

" Don't go too far, If I get serious, It will be ugly."

I felt something liquid reaching my feet and looked down. I saw a light yellow lake getting bigger and bigger as Jace peed his pants.

I let out a satisfactory laugh and left confidently as Jace blushed from the shame. It was already noon so I went to hunt.

I went to the woods and took out my sword. It had a long silver blade with a crescent moon carved on it and a moonstone that decorated the handle.

It looked nothing like a sword a female could have. Only a few women had swords, yet the swords women were allowed to wield were more like daggers.
