Our New Life

Chapter 17

The next day y/n went out because of boredom. Elijah was late, and she didn’t want to wait for him anymore so she went for groceries, though she didn’t need to. It was the most normal she could think of.

But what she didn’t know was, she should’ve stayed home today, too. That cocky villain, Loki, was out again. On her way back, she saw aliens flying everywhere and the heroes were trying to kill them. Everything felt like some game. At first, she saw everything in amusement but when one of those things was about to hit her she came back to reality. After getting rid of that she was about to leave, but saw people screaming, trying to save their lives. 

She knew she had to do that, that’s why she was there, not in some heaven or hell. And that moment, when she decided to help those people she chose her life, her future, her happiness. That moment she proved she wasn’t a monster. She didn’t want to be there, so close to Steve that he could have caught her but it was her duty. She had the power to save people, so she did.

People were stuck in the building, some beneath them. Her phone started to ring, she picked it up. “Where are you?” it was Elijah.

“I’m stuck between something. Maybe I could use some help too,” she said snapping the alien’s neck.

They were fighting New York didn’t look like before. Everything was ruined. Some people died, some got injured. Some people’s houses, shops got ruined. Elijah came for help, another man with him too but y/n didn’t have time to ask anything. 

She was about to help a girl in a uniform when Steve came and helped her. y/n was right in front of him, her body stiff. It was the first time she saw captain America this close, maybe she got starstruck. 

He didn’t see her, too busy saving the girl. Elijah saw her standing there. He noticed some of those creatures coming towards her. He ran towards her and pushed her out of the way.

 “Are you ok?” he asked.

 When she didn’t say anything he said “I think we should go.” he knew something was bothering her. 

“We checked the building, no one was there,” he explained. She looked towards Steve, saw him fighting, and turned towards them “let’s go.” she whispered.

After coming home she was still feeling down and feeling annoyed. She was annoyed at herself, for feeling that way.

For her, she was acting childish but couldn’t control it. It was like a lot of voices inside her. Some telling her to stop acting like that, some making her sad, telling her she brought that at herself.

Elijah cleared his throat making her look at him. 

Then she remembered she wasn’t alone, she smiled at him and told them to sit.
“You didn’t tell me you are bringing someone, not that I mind” he smiled and looked at the man.

 “Meet my brother, Kol Mikaelson.” Kol smiled at her. 

“I didn’t know you have another brother.” she said, “well, there are two more, Fin and Rebekah my sister. Klaus kept them in coffins….but now we live together as a family.'' Elijah said happily, making her smile. 

She didn’t know Elijah too much but he was different from other vampires, especially his brother.
He was calm and God his accent, if she ever became his friend she would try to learn that accent.

“I brought him to help you, considering I can’t be here all the time because of Klaus. I just hope he could be a help” he said glaring at Kol.

She sighed “yeah about that, I need a drink.” She went to the kitchen and brought a bourbon. “Want some?” She said and poured some for her.” you are drinking at this time?” Kol said.

“Why? You have a timetable to drink?” she replied, smirking. 

“y/n what happened? You can tell me.” Elijah suggested. 

She remained silent and kept on drinking. When she started to loosen up she spoke
“I can’t do this anymore Elijah. I tried to find her once but couldn’t. And last night someone because of me. She sent me this note by him.” she said, giving him the note. 

“And honestly I don’t think I can find her, you guys are originals you even couldn’t find her. And she is involved with agents, with these agencies, now it’s more difficult to find her.” 

“I can’t focus on anything, I don’t know what to do, I...I can’t live here anymore.” her eyes started to wet. She was feeling pathetic to cry in front of them. 

She barely knew those original vampires. “What about Klaus?” he asked politely.

 “I know, I told him I could find her and Elena, I have to free her from him. But I can’t do that, it’s been a year now. We’ll find some other way to free her.” 

Elijah raised his eyebrow “like killing him?” 

y/n rolled her eyes she knew he was mocking her. “No. I know I can’t kill him and don’t want to kill him, or anyone,” she said grumpily. 

“I think you need a break, then think about what you want. Live here and go to that captain or go back to mystic falls,” he said with a knowing smile. 

y/n looked at him with wide eyes “h..how do y.” 

“I'm an original, remember? I have my ways,” he said with a smug smile. 

“Oh stop it. It was so obvious, you were looking at the war hero. We figured it out at that time.” Kol added, making her groan. 

“Hey, have a break, come with us to mystic fall. We have a party at our home. I even brought a card to invite you. You deserve a break.” Elijah said. She looked at him and nodded.

“But not before eating. I’m starving!” Kol said from behind…..
