Chapter 5

Life is indeed unpredictable shit. y/n couldn't even dream about vampires being real. They were just a horror movie thing, that's it. But no they were real, she was hanging out with one for five years and she didn't even notice. Heck, the day she came to know became the day she was becoming one. Death was indeed scary shit and not everyone gets the chance to live again. But that felt wrong, living for eternity was wrong. And whom she would live for.

"I'm here for you. If you just want to give your life away because you don't have anyone that you. But still, I won't force a life you don't want to live on you." Damon's words came into her mind.

But then she remembered Steve's words. " A promise I'll remember while being away, fighting, that I have you waiting for me, I have no other choice but to fight, win and come back alive to you. A promise for me, for you, a promise of a happy life after all this mess. Will you marry me?"

What if Damon would also leave her, no...he is a vampire he won't. He would kill someone else to save himself first." she chuckled, thinking to herself.

There were so many things she could do for others, for herself with her vampire powers. She didn't need anyone to rely on. She could save people. She could help to reduce crime rates. These were here thoughts in favor of living this life. She could try to live, being a good vampire. She doesn't need to kill people. What would Steve do? Why do I always think about him? He did what he was supposed to do, he saved people. That's what she would do too.

Maybe she was thinking that just because she wanted to live, she was hungry, or maybe because Damon's teary face was coming into her mind or Steve's selflessness, that telling her not to be scared, go for it, do something for people, now she had nothing to be scared of. She had the power to use them wisely.

And in all those voices, pictures, memories inside her head she made her decision, she would give herself a chance to live her new life.....

Damon was sitting in his living room, he did say to her that he won't force her to live but he was worried. What if she didn't get agreed to live, he didn't want to lose her. It was night. He knew she would be feeling sick because of hunger. But then he heard her footsteps. He turned to look, she was standing her hand on the wall to keep herself steady due to dizziness.

He quickly got to her, putting his arms around her shoulders, and helped her towards the couch.

After some moment of awkward silence, she asked: "you won't leave me right?" That made him shocked but also gave him some hope. "Never y/n. I won't leave you ever. You are my best friend, I love you." which made her chuckle. "What if I... I lose control and start killing people. What if I become a monster." she told him her fears. "I'll help you learn control. I won't let you lose. I promise." he made another promise and she remembered the day Steve made his promises. "I don't want to kill anyone to complete my transition," she said with tears in her eyes making her look like a kid who didn't want to eat the broccoli her mother made her. He chuckled at her. "That's not an issue." he went to the kitchen and came out with two blood bags in his hand. She gasped like she was controlling her hunger at the sight of blood. Her fangs came out making her scream in pain. "Drink this, you'll feel better," he said, giving her blood bags. She drank the whole bag in seconds. She couldn't believe that she was drinking blood. After finishing blood she could feel veins under her eyes, she went to the mirror to see her vampire beauty and God, she indeed got scared.

She looked at Damon with a horrified expression, he smirked and shrugged. He went to her and took out a box, looking at her. He could see her body getting motionless. He chuckled "don't worry, I'm not proposing to you, I know you would kill me and besides you are not my type." he winked at her. She sighed in relief "oh God! Damon, you scared the shit outta me. I know how crazy you are and thank God you didn't ruin my mood." "ouchie, I'm not that bad y/n" he placed a hand on his heart. Then he opened the box and took out a beautiful sapphire ring and placed it on her finger. "Well it's a daylight ring, vampires need it to, you know, enjoy the warmth of the sun. But for you it's my love, a promise to be with you for eternity.....as your best buddy of course," he said chuckling. She rolled her eyes at his words. "Don't promise to live with me by giving me a ring Damon," she said, remembering Steve. "When would we start my training." "Tomorrow. And I'm going to be a strict teacher," he said smirking
