Chapter Twenty-Five: Seen

"They just left? Just like that?"

Bella looked down. The reminder fo the pain Edward brought when he left Forks, telling her that he didn't love her anymore. But Alina was here, and the Cullen's had to come back now. They'd come back fro Alina, right?

"Yeah... but you'll stay right?"

Alina blinked twice. She hadn't thought of the possibility that she wouldn't find her family here so she never made a plan for if they weren't. Her home was with Jasper and she wasn't with him. Hell, he didn't even know she was alive so how on God's earth would they ever find each other again.

"For a while. But I don't know going forward." Alina felt bad saying this to the human, but she knew the longer she stayed, the harder it would be on Bella when she left in the end. "But I will for now."

DECEMBER

Charlie Swan saw Alina Cullen.

"What are you doing here?" Charlie snapped the the Cullen girl. He wasn't expecting to see anyone in his living room, let alone a Cullen. Not after they hightailed out of Forks so suddenly.

"What?" Alina was also not expecting to be seen. She had spent the last few months lounging around the Swan house, not finding the motivation in herself to leave town and find her family. She was scared that they wouldn't want her back, that they would tell her she's better of dead, that she should leave and never come back. So she stayed around.

"I said," Charlie moved forward, trying to restrain himself from strangling the girl after what her family did to his daughter. "What are you doing here?"

"I uh... I didn't agree with how Carlisle left. I didn't want to leave. We had a massive argument over it." Alina looked down, spouting the story as she went. "As I'm eighteen, I left. Esme told me to come here, they hadn't found renters for the house yet."

"They kicked you out?" He stopped, feeling sorry for the girl. He had never spoken to her before but he had heard about how she struggled with socialising. And Bella had spoken highly of her.

"I don't know..."

"You're living alone?"

"Yes, Sir."

"Pack a bag. Come stay here for a few nights. Can't have a kid alone. You'll stay in Bella's room, it'll do her some good too."

Alina smiled, she hadn't expected such kindness from the chief, not what after her idiot brother had done to his daughter. Quickly, she thanked Charlie before existing the house, noting that she could actually use the door. It was only as she was making her way back to the Cullen house, did she realise what had actually happened.

Charlie Swan had seen her.

Although it seemed nobody else could as she watched cars whizz by her without anyone commenting or noticing a small girl walking along an old road alone at 8pm. She was just happy to have someone else to talk to,
