Chapter Fifteen: Back to Forks

The roads seemed never-ending as Edward drove himself and Alina past the Canadian border towards Washington State. Although, she loved her brother, there was only so much of him she could stand. Add that on top of having a week away from her mate; she was tired of Edward and would very much like to smash his face with a very sharp-edged rock. She was also making sure these thoughts were prominent in her mind so he would understand how much she would like him to not talk at this moment at time. Edward, however, being Edward chose to ignore this.

"We'll make it back in time to go to first period; are you wanting to go?"

"I'm not sure, depends on-"

"Where Jasper is?" Edward interrupted her, trying to be funny. Alina just felt annoyed.

"Yes. Precisely," she said, looking straight ahead at the road ahead. It was her sole focus until her phone buzzed, alerting her that she had a text.

Alice Cullen - Yes he will be ;)

Alina Cullen - You have to stop doing that?

"So back to the house then?" Edward asked, reading Alina's mind to figure out who had been messaging her.

"Yes back to the house."

It was silent between the pair until they reached the family house, where Alina promptly rushed out of the car, not looking back as Edward drove out of the property, ran through the house and up to her bedroom where Jasper stood in front of their closet, hanging up one of his jackets. He was humming to himself, so lost in his thoughts that he didn't notice his fiancée sneak up on him until she tapped his shoulder.

In less than a second, he had wrapped his arms around her and moved them to lay on the bed. His grip on her was so tight that she couldn't move, not that she would want too. After a week apart, there was no place she would rather be.

"Hi."

Jasper smiled at the girl, "Hi to you too. How've you been, doll?"

"Good good. Would've been better with you there."

The pair of them just continued with the small talk before it died out into a comfortable silence. These were always Jasper's favourite moments with Alina. Just the two of them. Jasper knew when his time come, this would be the memories he would think of: the times they spent together, hidden away from the world with no outside disturbances.
