You find yourself in a dark void. Everywhere you look seems to just be one great empty space, as if you where the only thing in the universe. You try to move your legs, and realize you can move around as if you were swimming. You kick your legs, and burst forward. If this wasn't so eerie, it'd be almost fun.

Suddenly, you find yourself yanked back into place. You look down and with horror you see a great black tentacle wrapping around your body. You try to pull away, but it only squeezes harder and harder. You don't belong here, whispers a dry, cold voice that sounds unfathomably ancient. You try to scream but the tentacles wrap around your head and then your eyes, growing ever tighter. Everything fades to black as you find yourself falling, falling...

"Wake up, sleepyslug!" says a voice. Your eyes flutter and suddenly the jet-black coat of your sister Ravenkit comes into focus. Her green eyes narrow. "Hello, (Y/N)kit, anybody in there?"

Your eyes adjust to the light of the nursery den, so much brighter than that awful dream. You check your pelt just to make sure, but of course there's no scratches or marks. You blink and you can make out the fading light of the sun trickling in from outside the den. You look around at the walls of then, feeling many conflicting feelings. You'd spent the first three moons of your life within these walls, but lately it was starting to feel as if they were closing in around you.

Ravenkit raps your head with her paw. Your eyes focus on her as she scowls. "Good, now I finally have your attention," she says. "I don't know why, but Sparrowkit wants you to play Mossball with Eaglekit and me. So, what do you say? Ready for me to beat you again?" She smirks, admiring her claws.

Ignoring Ravenkit's bad attitude, you look around the den. The ground is littered with leaves, feathers, tufts of cotton and moss to make it more comfortable. A little ways away, Sparrowkit waves a paw, his tail quivering. Eaglekit kicks the Mossball on his own, muttering to himself. Closer by, Violetkit notices that you are up and smiles. She signs with her tail in the language she and Mossfur had invented to talk to non deaf cats. Come play, she signs. Fun new idea. Brindleclaw, your mother, looks down at you with her observant orange eyes. Decisions, decisions, you think, sighing.

Go play Mossball with Ravenkit. It'd be fun to spend time with Sparrowkit and show your uppity sister who's boss. (Go to page 2)

See what Violetkit's up to. She's so sweet and thinks of the best ideas. (Go to page 3)

Stay by Brindleclaw. You're a big kit now. Why waste time with all these kits who are clearly beneath you? Plus, social interaction? No thank you. (Go to page 4)
