"Yes," you say, meeting Brumestar's eyes. "A medicine cat is what I want to be." Brindleclaw lets out a sigh of relief.
Brumestar, on the other hand, frowns. "If WillowClan were a tree, the medicine cats would be her leaves. Without their medicine and spiritual guidance, the whole clan would sicken and die. You will be tasked with interpreting signs from StarClan, and gathering herbs to make medicine to heal your clanmates. Due to their close connection to StarClan, this vital role would put you above all cats but the leader and deputy in rank."
Brumestar looks away, pausing for what seemed like forever. "But that power will come at a cost. You will be with our clanmates in their darkest hours, and many of them will not recover no matter how well you perform your tasks. The price of your close connection with StarClan is a life of celibacy. You can not allow yourself to get into a relationship, and you can never have kits. Is this a sacrifice you are willing to pay? Is it?!"
You take a step back, a little intimidated by Brumestar's intense speech. Brindleclaw glares at Brumestar, muttering something under her breath. She gives you a supportive look, wrapping her tail behind your back. Brumestar takes a deep breath, and precedes a bit more kindly. "You must be absolutely certain. The choice you make here today will decide the direction of the rest of your life. Do not make it impulsively. Now, are you sure if the path of the medicine cat is for you? If so, we will proceed to the apprentice ceremonies." You stare at the ground for a long time, then turn back to Brumestar, ready to give your answer.
1.You won't let Brumestar's weird display intimidate you. Healing other cats and working with StarClan has always been your dream, no matter the sacrifice. You know you want to be a medicine cat. Go to Page 43.
2.Brumestar is right. Giving up love is too high a price. You can always learn about herbs and serve StarClan another way while becoming a warrior. Go to Page 38.
3. You've just realized how much having kits means to you. You couldn't really feel alive unless you were raising the next generation, kittens of your very own. The queen is the right path for you. Go to Page 40.
4.Why is Brumestar being so mean and scary? No more choices, why can't you just stay with mama and be a kit forever? Go to Page 41.
