The beauty of the camp is nothing compared to the world outside. As the sun slowly sets behind you, you gasp in awe at the massive tree trunks rising out of the forest floor. Their boughs reach to the sky as all sorts of prey chatter and fly in their branches. Big green leaves almost block out the sun, although occasionally you catch the sight of the odd splash of blue or violet.
"C'mon, over here!" calls Sparrowkit, gesturing at a ford crossing a stream of gurgling water. Your eyes widen in awe. Before this, the most water you saw was a puddle that gathered in the nursery den. You pad over to him. "You think we should cross it?" he asks, his eyes sparkling with wonder.
"You didn't even need to ask," you smile back, admiring this new, adventurous side to Sparrowkit. You hop and edge your way over slippery stone. You nearly slip into the water until Sparrowkit grabs your tail. "Thanks," you say when you finally reach the other side.
"Uh, d-don't mention it," says Sparrowkit, his trademark nervousness beginning to return. His eyes widen and you think he's having some sort of fit when he gestures with his tail. Suddenly you understand why he looks so scared. Coming up your side of the creek are two strange cats with completely foriegn odours. Before they can see you or you can react, Sparrowkit pulls you into the bushes. The strange cats get closer and closer.
