After the recent events of Nana Booth's death, things were still hard going for everybody affected. Missy bunking off of school with 'period pains' when instead dealing with the funerals directors after the realisation had hit the girl wouldn't be able to find the money for Nana's cremation. Hayley still attending school, having to act like nothing had happened over the last few days so it meant she would get to stay with her older sister. Nas and Elle also keeping their hush about the situation.
"Hello, stranger." Cory chimed, as he walked into the sixth form hub to see Elle sitting in there all alone in their free period. "Your awful quiet, you." He carried on before taking a seat next to her.
"Before you start, I'm sorry I didn't call or nout. I understand if you've already-" Elle started, rambling on before she was silenced by Cory.
"Don't apologise, Jacob explained and I won't say a word." The taller boy reassured her before pulling her into a hug. "Besides, my dad were more let down than me." He chuckled.
"Your dad?" Elle screwed her face up in confusion. "I haven't seen Kevin in ages, why were he let down? Thought he'd been working, would make sense as to why you asked me round."
"Actually, it were my dad who wanted me to ask you round for tea. I didn't want to mention it, in case it scared you off or that." Cory smiled, as he played with the girl's blonde locks. "Dad's always thought you were a good kid, thinks your good for me. From his praises last night, he approves."
"You told your dad about me? About us?" The blonde asked, taken aback by Cory's actions. "I didn't think you were that serious about us, so soon. I thought we were taking things slow."
"You don't have a problem with it, do you?" He asked, frowning slightly. "I thought this way it would mean I would've proved myself. Like being one step closer to the real thing."
"No, no." Elle said, shooting him a widening smile. "Just if I had known, I would've told my ol' man too but he's away with work for the week. I swear that jobs got him away more times than he's here but it's better than finding him drunk in a ditch."
"Never know, maybe he's got a lady friend and that's why he's away so often." Cory chuckled, earning himself a slap on the chest from Elle. "What? I'm just saying, you never know what he's up to whilst he's away."
"After everything with my mum, I'd be surprised if that were the case. Dad's always open and honest with us about everything, so I doubt that." She shook her head, laughing with Cory. "You still surprise me, you're like a changed person."
