Elle ignored Tyler's call hoping the person wouldn't stick around much longer. Her plan was set up to fail with boy shouting on her once more.
"That wasn't Cory's voice, was it?" Gabby cocked her head in confusion as to who it could be. "Sounded like a woman to me."
Tyler called on the girl once again.
"Aren't you going to go down and see who it is?" The other girl asked in confusion as Elle remained silent. "She's awful eager, ain't she?"
The blonde sighed, realising that there was clearly going to be no way out of this. "I'll be back in a second." She got up and eventually headed down the stairs.
"Elleanor!" She was greeted with her mother's arms wrapped around her, making the girl wiggle out of her grasp as quick as possible. "I thought you were ignoring me there."
Tyler could sense the discomfort from Elle's facial expression. "Do you know her? Should I have let her in?"
"I'm her mum." Claire greeted the boy with a soft smile which her daughter could see right through. "And you are?"
"I would use the term 'mum' very lightly. You're just a waste of space." Elle shook her head, stepping away from the woman. "What the hell are you doing back here? Jacob and I made it very clear we wanted nothing to do with you."
"Don't you remember, I said this wasn't over, so here I am." The older woman said with a rather smug smile. "So, where's your dad?"
"Just get out." The girl slightly raised her voice, masking the tears of frustration. "You walked out on us once so go ahead and do it again."
That cocky and smug grin didn't leave Claire's face. "Just like your dad, you are. Stubborn as ever and never listen to a word anyones got to say."
"You heard her, she wants you gone." Tyler came forward after hearing the row which was probably about to commence.
The boy was ignored as Claire had spoken over him, only frustrating and upsetting her daughter even more.
"Stubborn as he can be, at least he stuck around." Elle cracked as a tear or two began to roll down her cheek. "Just get out before he finds out you were here."
Looking at the state she had gotten her daughter in, Claire admitted defeat and walked away, Tyler slamming the door behind her.
"Was that your mum?" Gabby poked her head around the banister, being able to hear the whole row.
"That part was obvious." The blonde half laughed, wiping the remaining tears away from her cheeks. "That's her over and done with." It would forever be a touchy subject for the teenager as she still struggled to communicate her feelings.
"You know we're both here if you want to talk, yeah?" Tyler softened the tone of his voice, of which Elle appreciated their offer but would most likely never take them up on it.
Elle nodded her head in response and swiftly headed back to her bedroom to check her phone and most importantly fill in Jacob of tonight's troubles.
Before going to unlock it, the notifications on her phone screen displayed several missed calls and texts from Cory, to which all would be ignored for now.
