"What the hell is that noise?" Elle grumpily stormed into her older brothers' bedroom, after being awoken by the thumping sounds of loud music blasting. "And as for that smell, it reeks of alcohol." She said, turning her nose up at the particularly strong smell.

"Must be someone out on the street, dad's not meant to be back until tomorrow." Jacob shrugged, out of the twins he was the one who was up and ready to start the day. "It's a Monday morning, it's probably just some drunk wondering the streets."

"It smells and sounds like it's coming from down stairs." She looked at him reluctantly. "I'm telling you, it's coming from in here."

"You're trying to say that dad's back on the booze then?" The eldest of the twins turned around to raise his eyebrow. "It's a bit far fetched, don't you think?"

"It seems likely, I'm just saying." The girl shrugged her shoulders, trying to convince her brother that something just wasn't right about the house. "Please can we just go down the stairs and see?"

"Go and get ready then we can go and check it out, yeah?" Jacob made the comprise to Elle.

Anything to keep his sisters' mind at rest, eh?

"You go down first." Elle stated, shortly meeting her brother in the upstairs hallway, with the pair now both ready to go to school. "Please."

"Fine." Jacob huffed, as he walked down the stairs with Elle following in his shadow. "Maybe it is coming from here." He screwed his face up in confusion, with the noise and smell getting closer to him. "I think it's coming from the kitchen."

"Oh, there they are." Neil Stewart, the dad of the twins, jumped at their presence of his kids in the doorway. As the twins furthered their gaze, they realised another three faces to which they didn't recognise. One of which a woman who looked around their fathers age and the other two teenagers would've probably been around the same age as them. "I guess there's some introducing to do here."

"You've got that right, what the hell is going on?" Elle was the first out of the pair to speak up, looking from the middle aged woman to the two teenagers. "And who are they and why are they in our house at this time?"

"Hello to you too." One of the teenagers sarcastically said, looking Elle up and down just to give her a disapproving look. "Didn't mean to tread over your toes."

"Gabby, enough." The woman snapped, instantly getting the girl to not say anymore.

"Well, this is my new girlfriend, Carla." Neil introduced the woman to both Jacob and Elle. "And these are her children, Gabby and Tyler. They're going to be joining us here for a bit until they find their feet again."

"And you didn't think to run it past us?" Jacob snapped, with the pair of them instantly against the idea of all of this. After all, it was a lot to take in on a morning like this. "I thought it was always just going to be the three of us."

"I'm not here to replace your mum, it's nothing like that. I swear." Carla started before she was cut off by the youngest of the twins.

"Don't even mention my mum, she's nowt to do with this." Elle retaliated back to the older woman. The topic of their mother was still a stingy topic under their roof, despite the affairs being from years ago. "You just cant expect to move people into our house that we don't know and expect us to be alright with it. We'd be as well letting the homeless in."

"Never mind not telling us that you've got a secret girlfriend, seriously who do you think you are?" Jacob scoffed as everyone sat listening to him. "And if you think I'm going to share or give up my room for that, then you're wrong."

"I'm with him, I'm not sharing my room with some snarky bitch I've known for five minutes." The blonde haired girl stood, nodding in agreement with her older brother.

"Elleanor, quit it." Her father sternly warned before going on to lecture the pair of them. "You two have at least got to give it a chance, Carla's really good for me you know."

"Ever tried introducing her first? Before she decides to move in?" The blonde haired boy said with a wit upon his voice. "Nice one, dad. Nice one."

Before anyone could say anything else, there was a knock at the front door which Elle was the most eager to answer, meaning that she could probably flee the house at the same time.

"Hi." Riz stood there, shooting the girl an awkward smile. The pair hadn't spoke since their last awkward encounter, since Elle found out that he had a crush on her. "Jacob ready to walk to school? You're more than welcome to join us."

"Not you an' all." Elle shook her head at the sight of Riz on her doorstep, before grabbing her school bag and barging past the boy to make her own way to school.

"So who's that gonna work then?" Missy asked, screwing her face up in confusion as the three girls stood in the toilets, bunking off yet another one of their lessons. "Do you get it, Ell?"

"Just let Nas explain it to ya."

"Well, he's my boyfriend." Nas shrugged, looking at the pair of them.

"Ha, yeah, but he's gay and you're-" Missy continued before she was cut off by Elle.

"Yes, we all know what Nas is." Elle cut in, with Nasreen mouthing 'thank you' at her. "What she's trying to say is that once she's married, she'll be able to cop off with whoever she likes." She explained in a way that the blonde would eventually understand.

"Can we go?" Elle kept her voice down, as she made a little bit of eye contact with the teenage girl she woke up to her house this morning, Gabby. "Please?"

"Funny the gobby girls lost her mouth  now." Gabby said, making a snide comment as the three girls emerged from the girls toilets together.

"Who were that?" Missy and Nas asked in unison.

"It owt, don't matter."

"There he is!" Missy being easily distracted, pointing down to corridor at Nasreen's 'boyfriend', Naveed.

"Ackley's answer to Tom Daley." Elle added on, getting a laugh from the other blonde girl.

"Nasreen." Naveed called back down the hall to her.

"Do you two mind if we have a moment?" The black haired girl turned to ask her two best friends, who didn't seem to mind in the slightest, eager to see how this would all play out.

"Who are we to stand in the way of true love, eh?" The blonde girl chuckled, as they slowly trotted off. "I mean no offence to you and Cory, walking STD's don't scream true love for me."

"None taken." Elle half laughed, as the two girls watched Naveed and Nas from afar. "Look at them go!" She pointed out, watching the 'couple' basically snogging each others faces off in front of the majority of Ackley Bridge.
