I opened the passenger side door and got into his Jeep. My thoughts are racing. How am I going to tell him? When should I tell him? Should I tell him now? Or should I wait until we get home? I decide on telling him when we get home, it leaves me more time to plan it out.
Dylan opens the driver door, gets in, looks at me and smiles. I watch him as he starts the engine and puts the Jeep into drive. His eyes are on the road when he asks, "Did you enjoy your first day?"
"I did actually. Besides Tyler and Tate, I've made a couple of new friends."
"Hey, what about me?"
"You were my friend before I started here Dylan, you don't count." I smile and nudge his arm on the middle council.
"Hey, hey, hey, no hitting the driver." He laughs.
"Baby." I call him and we both laugh.
"Did Maya give you any trouble throughout the day?" Dylan asks me, taking his eyes off the road for a quick second to look at me.
"Um not really. She's in my Trig class though, and that was fun." I say sarcastically. "Mr. Adams was asking us math questions to refresh our memories and for the last question Maya answered incorrectly and I answered it correctly, you should have seen the death glare she gave me."
"Don't worry about her Kacey. Maya's just a lot of talk, she never does anything." Dylan says and puts his hand on top of mine. I look down and smile.
A few more conversations here and there and we are driving down the road that leads to our houses. Oh god my nerves are back. I look over at him as he is concentrating on the road. The sun is shining on him making his perfect skin glow and showing off his beautiful brown eyes. I think of what Tate told me earlier in math and I smile. You can do this Kacey. He's just a boy. Yeah, I think to myself, the most perfect boy I've ever seen.
"We're here!" Dylan says and I am pulled back to reality. He opens his door and is about to get out when I grab his hand.
"Dylan wait."
He turns to me and closes his door. "Yeah?"
I bite my lip slightly and look at him. My nerves are getting to me I need to do this now. I lean in, and surprisingly he does the same, then our lips meet. Yes, yes, yes. I pull away.
"I like you Dylan, I really really like you." I say looking into his eyes.
He places one of his hands on my cheek. "You don't know how long I've been waiting to here that." We both smile and he leans in and kisses me again.
This time he pulls away and gets out of the jeep and runs over to my side and opens it for me.
"I guess this means that I have to make you my girlfriend now, right?"
"If you must." I say and roll my eyes and smile. He takes my hand and helps me out of his Jeep. "I need to drop my bag off in my house and take Milo for a walk. Would you like to come?"
"Yeah, let me just drop my bag off at my house too." He says and kisses my cheek.
I open the front door of my house and I see mom and dad aren't home yet. I close the door behind me and lean against it. That couldn't have gone any better, I think to myself and smile.
