I wake up to the sound of my alarm going off at its usual time, 8:30. I turn my alarm off and just lay on my bed starring at the ceiling. I still can't get over that dream from last night. It felt so real.

I take in a deep breath and let it out. I walk over to the window on the other side of my room and look outside to try and clear my mind. As I'm looking outside I see a young guy about my age step outside his front door and down his driveway to his mailbox. You must be Dylan, I say to myself. I suddenly got a nervous feeling in my stomach. I'm going to be eating dinner tonight with him and his parents. Oh god.

I'm not a very social person. Back in Atlanta I had no friends, none at all. When we moved here to California I decided I wanted to do cyber school for my senior year, because of well... what happened to me. I wanted to avoid all of the "Why did you move here?" questions.

As I am thinking about all of those stuff, I realize that I'm still looking out my window starring at Dylan. I watch Dylan as he takes the mail out of his mailbox and turns around, heading back up his driveway. Out of nowhere he suddenly looks up and sees me looking at him from my window.

Our eyes meet and I freeze. I want to get out of sight, but my feet are suddenly glued to the floor. My heart is pounding against my chest.

I finally break our gaze and duck under my window. I count to thirty and peak my head over the window sill to make sure he went back inside his house. And to my relief he did. Nice one Kacey, I think to myself, he is supposed to be your first friend here and now he probably thinks you're a total freak.
