It's a week after Dylan and I's date and my mom has scheduled me to take my permit test. Dylan's lessons have really paid off. I thought I'd be a horrible driver but I'm not going to lie, I'm pretty good, a natural as Dylan says. I also got a driving manual so I know the "rules of the road" even though they're mostly common sense. I've gone through the book three times and took all the practice tests and aced all of them.

"Are you excited sweetie?" My mom asks me as we get into her car.

"Yeah I'm going to ace this thing." I say eagerly. My dad wished that he could come a long but he has patient after patient today so he wished me luck before leaving this morning.

We arrive at the DMV and wait for my name to be called. I look around and see a bunch of kids around my age also waiting to take the test too. A girl comes out of the testing area with tears in her eyes. I'm guessing she didn't pass, I think to myself. Is it really that hard?

"Kacey King, you're next." The lady at the desk says.

I look at my mom excitedly. "Good luck Kace!" She tells me and I walk over to the testing area.

The lady explains the procedure to me and before I know it the first question appears on the computer screen. I read the question carefully and pick an answer. I repeat the process 14 other times. Finally the computer tallies up my score and I got 15/15.

I walk out of the testing area with a huge smile on my face. My mom sees me and walks over to me. "Sooooooo" she says.

"I passed it! 100 percent!"

"Good job! I knew you could do it." She tells me and gives me a hug.

We walk over to the lady and I get my official permit. I sign it and the lady hands it over and congratulates me and tells me after six months is up I can get my license.

On the drive home I take a picture of my permit and send it to Dylan.

Kacey: LOOK WHAT I GOT!!!!!

I stare out the window and wait for my phone to ding, and it does almost immediately.

Dylan: CONGRATS BABE I KNEW YOU HAD IT IN YOU! We need to go out and celebrate this momentous achievement

Kacey: I wouldn't have gotten it without your help so thank you. And yes, yes we should (:

Dylan: Alright see you tonight (:

I smile as I lock my phone. I wonder what Dylan's going to plan for tonight? That boy is full of surprises. Well the only way to find out is to wait and see.
