The whole week goes by fast, as does the following week too. School was going perfect and besides the few glares from Maya, she hasn't tried anything. Her face was priceless when Dylan and I walked into school hand in hand the day after we got together. But, I didn't care, she could glare at me all she wanted, it wasn't going to affect me. I am happy, truly and utterly happy for once.
And I know what you're thinking, that this, Dylan and I, happened too fast. That I've only known him for a month, that I couldn't possibly get feelings for him this fast, but I did. I needed something to help me forget about what happened to me, and that something is him.
The final school bell rang to end the day and I go to my locker to put my things away and surprisingly there's no homework for the weekend so I shut my locker and suddenly someone's behind me and have their hands over my eyes.
"Guess who." A familiar voice whispers.
Of course I know it's Dylan, but I want to tease him.
"Tate? Wait no Tyler?" I smirk.
He turns me around to face him and takes his hands off my eyes. He's standing there looking at me with that goofy smile of his on his face.
"I knew it was you, I was just teasing." I tell him and he intertwines our fingers.
"I know." He says and kisses my cheek. "Are you ready to go?"
I nod my head yes.
"Alright let's rock and roll!" Dylan yells and a small giggle escapes my mouth.
"You are so embarrassing sometimes." I tell him and hide my face in shame with my free hand.
"You know you love it." He whispers in my ear and puts his arm around me so that my arm is now across my chest still holding his hand. And with that we exit the school and start making our way over to his Jeep.
We pass Tyler and Tate talking at Tyler's motorcycle when he notices us.
"There's my favorite couple!" Tyler shouts.
I freaking love that kid. He's hilarious.
I laugh and Dylan throws up a peace sign their way. I look at Tate and smirk at her, then move my eyes between her and Tyler. And she mouths shut up and smiles back at me then looks away to look at Tyler. The way she looked at him was so cute.
Dylan and I wave goodbye to them and make it to his Jeep. He opens the passenger door for me and I get it. He gets into his side and starts the engine. We pull out of school and I notice he's not going our normal route home.
"Umm, where are we going?" I ask him.
"You'll see." Dylan says with a smile on his face.
Dylan pulls up into a deserted parking lot and I look at him.
"Are you ready for driving lesson number one?"
I smile. "A-Are you sure?"
"A hundred percent." He shuts the engine off and we get out of the Jeep. We both go around the front of the Jeep and as I pass by him I smile and he returns it.
I get in the driver's seat and he's in the passenger seat. I take a deep breath and let it out.
"Well, start 'er up." He says motioning to his keys.
I do what I was told and start it.
"Ok so for lesson number one, we're just going to do simple things. Like just driving around the lot and parking."
"Sounds easy enough." I say.
"Then put it in drive, and let's take this baby for a ride around the parking lot!"
"Alright here we go." I say and put his Jeep into drive and slowly put foot and the gas pedal.
I take it slow keeping my eyes on the parking lot.
"You're doing good." Dylan looks over at me.
"Really?" I keep my eyes on the road, but I can feel his eyes on me.
"Yeah! You're a natural Kace." I can tell he has a smile on his face and I blush.
I continue to drive around in circles for five more minutes.
"I think we drove around in circles enough, do you want move onto parking now?"
"Yeah sure."
"Ok pull into that spot over there." He says pointing.
I once again do what I'm told and pull into the parking spot with no problem.
"I did it!" I say smiling, and I look at him. He puts his hand up, waiting for me to give him a high five and I do. And when my hand meets his, he interlocks our fingers and pulls me in for a kiss.
After the kiss was finished I ask, "What was that for?" I say with a smile.
"Because I want to ask you something."
"What is it?"
"I think it's time we go on our first date."
I try not to let it show, but I know my face is probably turning red. And I look at him and he meets my gaze.
"I'd like that." I say and bite the bottom corner of my lip.
"How about tomorrow night we go to the local fair. I'll come over and pick you up around six. Does that sound good?" He says looking into my eyes.
"I can't wait."
