I would've bet on us
We were untouchable, you and I

He thought nothing would break them; nothing would hurt them. He was wrong.

I couldn't get enough
It was a fairy-tale come to life

After the shit he had to go through with his ex-girlfriend, he really thought that their relationship was different, it was meant to be. Turns out, it was never meant to be.

I had your heart
At least that's what I thought

The heartbroken man could have sworn he had his boyfriend's heart. He must have had it at some point, right? Or was this all just a bit to him? Was this just pretend?

Now I'm second-guessing, every moment
Wondering where we went so wrong

Where had they gone wrong? At the start of the five-year long relationship, they were happy, excited! When had that feeling dissipated? When had they started to fade? When did they become distant? When did they fail? When did he fail?

I just keep asking
Would this have been worth it if I knew
the ending all along?

If he knew  how this would've ended - him sitting in his house with a cold coffee in his had as he sobbed his broken heart out - would he have still accepted his ex-lover's proposal? Yes.

What started so perfect
Was over too fast

All their friends, all their fans, said that they were perfect for each other, that they  were soulmates, that they were just made for each other. But they were wrong, they lied... right? They started of so perfect, but it ended too fast.

I should have seen the warning signs

There were plenty of warning signs, but he ignored them. The brunette he was madly in love with clearly didn't love him the same way. Clearly he would rather date the girl who set the duo up in the first place... He ignored the warning signs.

'Cause perfect doesn't last...

"I'll always love you, George," Dream whispered, looking at the last picture the duo had taken together before their relationship went downhill.

Perfect doesn't last...
