Dream was sat in his cell, like usual. Sam had told him that he had a visitor coming today with a gift for him whilst he spent his time in the prison. About an hour or so later the lavafall behind him drained to reveal his visitor. Dream looked up and noticed that it was Tommy who was crossing the lava lake to come visit him. Fun. Once the bridge had docked, Tommy stepped off and the two waited for the lava to cover the exit and entrance to the cell before they started talking.

"You're burnt," Tommy noted, looking at the burns that decorated the green hoodie Dream had on and the burns on his arms and legs. Worryingly Dream didn't seem bothered by them, nor the ones on his face. The ones the blonde boy could see, at least. Which worried him a little more than he'd like to admit. "Why?"

Dream merely shrugged as he stayed where he was sat against the wall opposite to the lavafall before him, the orange glow reflecting of the porcelain mask he wore over the upper half of his face. "Got bored," he replied, fiddling with some loose strands on his now tattered hoodie. "Why do you care?"

Tommy glanced away. Why did he care? He shouldn't. Dream hurt him. Dream manipulated him to the point where he genuinely believed he was his only friend. Or... was he manipulated? It didn't matter now.

"I don't," he replied, though it sounded more like a question. Dream hummed, looking away. The tension between the two seemed to grow tenfold, doubling itself again and again and again. Like a mutation. "Look, I came to give you something. Something that'll keep you entertained while you're here."

Dream looked up at the boy before him, watching as he pushed a water bucket towards him. Dream took it from him.

That was his first mistake.

"Thanks, Tommy," Dream thanked, voice barely above a whisper as he stared at the water, trying to ignore the ugly burns that were staring back at him.

"No problem. I've gotta go now so..." Tommy turned around and stated to walk towards the bridge. He glanced back for a moment, seeing how Dream was just blankly staring at the water. He'll be fine, the boy thought before he left. Leaving Dream alone. Dream was left on his own, with his thoughts.

That was his second mistake.

As Dream continued to look at the water in the bucket, he couldn't help the thoughts that crept into his mind.

Why don't you do it? I mean, you've already tried to burn yourself to death. How well did that work out for you? Not very well. This would make everyone happier! They'd be free from you, they'd be happy from you, they'd finally be able to have fun without you.

Do it. Free them.

The dirty blonde was listening to the voice.

That was his third mistake.

Getting up from his seating position, the man headed towards the lavafall and just stared at it for about twenty minutes.

Do. It.

Dream couldn't fight the voice; it was merely impossible. "I have to do this," he muttered to himself, hand starting to pass through the lava. "It'll be better for everyone..."

Now you're getting it! The voice was cheering him on, encouraging him to continue to harm himself, to end himself. Do it with the other arm, too, then go to the bucket. Dream nodded absentmindedly, doing the same to his other arm before going over to the bucket. He was obeying the voice.
