"Tommy, Tommy, Tommy, come down!" Wilbur called, looking at the boy who stood on the roof of one of the houses. "Won't you get up off-"

"Get up off the roof?" Tommy snapped, looking at his older brother who merely shook his head.

"You're scaring us and all of us, some of us love you. Tommy, it's not much but there's proof." Tommy still didn't seem to understand. "You crazy-assed cosmonaut, remember your virtue! Redemption lies plainly in truth."

"Just humour you?"

"Tommy, Tommy, come down. Won't you get up off, get up off the roof?" Wilbur held his arms open, and Tommy raced forward, tackling the middle child in a hug. Maybe now isn't my time...
------
He was there again, on that stupid roof.

"Tommy, Tommy, Tommy, come down!" It was Techno this time, watching as his youngest brother attempted to take a step closer to the edge. "Won't you get up off-"

"Get up off the roof?" Tommy didn't mean to snap, it just happened.

"The self is not so weightless, nor whole and unbroken, remember the pact of our youth." The three brothers had made a pact in their childhood that they would never leave each other. But it got broken the moment the eldest left.

"Where I go?" Tommy wanted to see if he still believed in that pact after all these years.

"We're going, so jump and we're jumping. Since there is no us without you." Techno smiled softly at the youngest of the three, holding his arms out. "Soldier on, Tommy. Tommy, come down. Won't you get up off, get up off the roof?"

"Loathe the way they light candles with Dream but love the sweet air with Wilbur."

"Hurt and grieve but don't suffer alone," Wilbur was here now. "Engage with the pain as a motive. Today of all days, see."

"How the most dangerous thing is to love," why was Techno talking about love? "How you will heal, and you'll rise above." Both had their arms open this time, inviting him for a hug. He couldn't do it, not yet. And so, he lives another day. It still isn't my time...
------
It hadn't been a week, yet he stood on the roof once more, an imagination of dream beside him. Though, to Tommy, that man was real.

"Tommy, Tommy, Tommy, jump now. You are absent of cause or excuse." The Dream that Tommy thought – no, he knew – was there was taunting him. "So self-indulgent and self-referential, no nation could ever want you." Dream seemed to chuckle, finding enjoyment in taunting with him. Then, another showed up. This one hurt much more than seeing Dream did. It was his Tubbo, here to taunt him to jump.

"You crave the confrontation yet hate the fight, then miss it, your act is a ruse! It is empty, Tommy, so end it all now! It's a pointless resistance for you." He seemed to enjoy it, watching his best friend contemplate ending it all.

He couldn't. It's still not my time...
------
Tommy was on his roof again, this time nursing a half empty bottle of Fosters.

"Tommy, Tommy, just put down the bottle, don't listen to what you've consumed." His dad, Philza, was here this time, reprimanding him. "It's chaos, confusion and wholly unworthy of feeling and it's wholly untrue. You may feel no purpose nor point for existing; it's all just conjecture and gloom."

"There is not a meaning-"

"So, find one and seize it. Do not waste yourself on this roof. Hear those cheers ring deep in the soul, cheering away for a moment. Feel your breath course frankly below and see life as a worthy opponent. Today of all days, see,"

"How the most dangerous thing is to love," Techno was there again. "How you will heal, and you'll rise above."

"Crowned by an overture bold and beyond," Wilbur was there too. "Ah, it's more courageous to overcome." The three held their arms out, allowing the youngest of the four to crash into them. My time is coming...
------
He was alone, on his roof. Everyone was asleep, yet Tommy couldn't. Not with the angel and the devil going back and forth.

"You want the nation, the freedom from others-"

"It's not worth it, Tommy-"

"More poignant than fighting or the taste of another-"

"Don't listen, Tommy-"

"But be real and just jump, you dense motherfucker-"

"You're worth more, Tommy-"

"You will not be more than a rat in the gutter-"

"So much more than a rat-"

"You want my opinion, my opinion you've got-"

"No one has asked your opinion-"

"You asked for my counsel, I gave you my thoughts-"

"No one asked for your thoughts-"

"Be done with this now and jump/get off the roof. Can you hear me, Tommy? I'm talking to you. I'm talking to you."

Suddenly, Tubbo was there.

"I'm talking to you; I'm talking to you. Tommy, come down! Tommy, come down!" He was begging. He couldn't bear to see Tubbo beg, so he got down. It's getting closer...
------
He was on the roof again, Fundy a few steps behind him.

"Throw yourself into the unknown, with pace a fury defiant. Clothe yourself in beauty untold and see life as a means to a triumph. Today of all days, see."

"How the most dangerous thing is to love," Techno was there again, trying to stop him. "How you will heal, and you'll rise above."

"Crowned by an overture bold and beyond," Wilbur was there again, too, he didn't want to see his baby brother fall like this. "Ah, it's more courageous to overcome." They all had their arms open, smiling softly as Tommy ran into them. It's almost here...
------
Tommy stood upon the roof he had become so accustomed to, smiling softly.

It's time...

Before he could take another step, Tubbo' voice sounded behind him. "Tommy! Tommy, please!"

"'Tommy, Tommy, Tommy' they say,"

"Tommy, Tommy, Tommy,"

"'Won't you get up off, get up off the roof?'"

"Won't you get up off, get up off the roof?"

"I'm tired, exhausted, what more do you want from me?"

"You're scaring us and all of us, some of us love you-"

"I'm sorry, but this is where it ends..."

Tubbo's face changed, it faded from the kind and hopeful smile to one of utter betrayal.

"The voices they're shouting,"

"Remember your virtue!"

"I don't want redemption or truth."

"I'm done here, I'm done here."

"Then it's empty, Tommy..."

"The cost of a hero..."

"So end it all now-"

"Tommy, Tommy is no more."

"Goodbye, Tubbo." With that, Tommy fell backwards and closed his eyes. He was finally at peace.

"Tommy!" Tubbo's pained scream could be heard for miles, everyone knowing what had happened just from the pain in the young boy's voice. They all knew what it meant.

Tommy is no more...
