Dream sighed, already bored out of his mind as he sat, watching the lava drip down. When was the last time I saw the sun? Saw the green of the grass? Had fun with my friends? He couldn't remember, they were all just distant memories. How long was it since he had last slept? Since he had eaten? Since he had drank? He really couldn't remember, and it infuriated him.

His attention was captured when he saw the lava waterfall slowly drain, revealing Sam – who he looked to as a brother and hoped that Sam felt the same way – and another man. This man was one that the prisoner despised, one he wished to have the most gruesome death possible. Philza Minecraft.

Glancing down at his hands as to avoid looking at the failure of a man, he noticed the slight tremor in them. Shit, he thought as he heard the bridge start moving, indicating that Phil – and hopefully Sam – were on their way. I don't want him to see the effect he has on me. Shit, shit, shit, shit!

He made the mistake of looking up.

There, stood right before him, was the man he once called father, the man he once looked to and said 'I'm gonna be just like you one day!'. Don't get him wrong, Phil was a great dad at the beginning, the best, but then he found Wilbur, then Techno then Tommy, and finally Tubbo. He was put on the backburner, he was exiled from his family, from his father. He was replaced by orphans when he was his biological son. Why? Was he not good enough to bear the Minecraft name? Was he, the son who held the blood of his father, not good enough for him yet a couple of orphans were?

"Why are you here?" Dream asked, a slight shake to his voice. Phil looked confused, noticing the tremor that his son tried so hard to hide. "I asked a question... Philza." Phil would be lying if he said his heart didn't break upon hearing his son call him by his first name instead of 'Dad' or 'Father' like he did when he was a kid. Was he even his son anymore? Were his hands shaking because of him?

"Is a father not aloud to visit his son in prison?" Phil asked, watching as the dirty blonde started to pace causing the winged man to sigh. "Look, I understand that I haven't been the best father as of late-"

"As of late? As of late?!" Dream shouted, turning to glare at the man before him. "When it was just me and you, it was fine! We were happy, I was happy, proud, to call you my dad then. But then Wilbur came, and you started to distance yourself from me. Then it was Techno and you distanced yourself further, then Tommy, and finally Tubbo! And guess what? That's when you decided to leave me. You abandoned me, Phil! Don't you understand?!"

"Dream, I've never abandoned you. Why..." the blonde trailed off, mind reeling as he looked back to when his boys were growing up. Eyes widened in realization; he had abandoned him. Not on purpose, of course. But how do you explain that to a boy who grew up too fast for his liking? How do you explain the reason behind abandoning his biological child when there was no reason? "Dream, I-"

"Everything I did, all of it, was just to get your attention!" Dream yelled, and Phil was sure people near the Prime Path could hear him even though the cell was soundproof. "I only ever wanted your attention, the attention that you threw away to Wilbur, Tommy, Tubbo and Techno! Why? Was I not good enough for you? Am I not god enough for you?"

Phil was silent.

How could he respond? Dream was heartbroken, which merely fuelled his anger and his actions. Was there anyway that he could help him? Any way to fix their broken bond? Phil didn't know, but he desired to know. He desired to fix the bond between him and his son, and hopefully fix what's left of the bond between him and his siblings.
