It was amazing to see all of us fight Tartarus and honestly, I don't think he was prepared for the wizards to actually fight him directly. It was pretty amazing and it reminded me of all the times I fought beside my demigod family but this time, I was not going to let anyone die.
Just as Blaise throws a fire spell at Tartarus who dodges the spell, I slam Tartarus against the piece of rubble that was once a statue with the full force of the wind. Professor Snape and Headmaster McGonagall were throwing spell after spell at Tartarus who was having a hard time deflecting the spells thrown by the trained wizards. I felt a sense of pride and hope as I threw balls of my own powers at him but then Tartarus decided to remind us that he was a primordial. Someone who was older than any of my parents. He darkened the whole space as I felt sharp jagged pieces fly toward us. I put up a shield quickly in front of my family and I felt the jagged pieces hit the shield but it still felt like it was hitting me even though I knew it wasn't.
I growled as I took control of the darkness pushing it away as I sensed where Tartarus was. Blocking his thrust with his curved cursed staff, I use the curviness to my advantage flipping him so I could stab him with one of my arrows. I open my wings to push myself back to my family as the arrow explodes in a shockwave. Tartarus howls in pain as I hear bones snap. He growls as he turns to looks at me.
"You won't win, Atlantia." He growls, "You are not going to win."
"Look around, Great-Granddaddy." I spat calling him that to tease him that I, his great-granddaughter was going to be the last thing he saw. Her and her family were going to be the last thing he saw, "The monsters are all destroyed. The wizards and witches that you were so quick to put down destroyed the army of monsters that survived when I first hurt you so bad that you needed five years to recover."
"Yes, your precious wizards may have destroyed those soldiers but only you can kill me or have you forgotten?" Tartarus smirked at me as he limped around in a circle around me. It made me smile as I saw how badly my arrows were hurting him. Too bad I only have one left. "Just like how giants can only be killed by a god and a demigod or in your case, you and your powers, I must be killed with your powers and only by your powers. Do you have enough strength, my child?"
I pulled the spear out of the strap on my back and steadied it in my hand, "Let's find out." I run toward him before swinging my staff at him. He stops the attack with his staff before doing a maneuver to try to disarm me but my demigod instincts kicked in and I kept the staff in my hand. Together, Tartarus and I engage in a deadly tango as we each took turns leading the other into defensive and offensive movements as we saw fit. My family just stood in a circle around us after hearing that it can only be me to kill Tartarus, they allowed him and I to take the final part of the battle. We were both weak but the fight was still intense.
At one point, I push Tartarus backwards with the wind before in a split second notching my last arrow and shooting it at him before he could recover from my surprised power move. He tried to dodge the arrow but I use my powers to send it back to him. It slammed into his back and he gasped when it hit him before howling in pain as the shockwaves burst outward. Tartarus collapsed to the ground whimpering in pain. I stalked toward him with my spear but not before freezing his hands and legs to the ground. If he was faking how much pain he was in, he could easily attack me from his position so I was not going to take any chances.
"It looks like I won, Tartarus." I said once I got close to him, "It's time you join Gaea in an endless sleep so far under that you will never awaken enough to hurt any of us again either by creating a world were monsters could be rebirth or with yourself." I stabbed the spear into Tartarus's stomach before pushing my powers through his body. He screams as he glows with white power seeping through his body before an explosion causes everybody but me to look away. I watch as Tartarus's mortal form is ripped a part into million pieces before the white glow disappears. All that was left of Tartarus was his staff which I was assuming was the spoil of war that typically you get when you defeated a powerful being. Not wanting Tartarus to come back because he latched onto the spoil of war somehow, I destroy it before turning to the my family gathered around me. Blaise stares at me before dropping his wand and sword and running toward me. He wraps his arms around me before taking my lips in his.
For a moment, we just get lost in each other so thankful that we both survived this. I think we only pulled apart because Professor Snape cleared his throat very loudly before giving Blaise a look that reminded me of a Dad who just saw his daughter's boyfriend kissing her.
"I am aware that you are happy that both of you are alive," Snape said still giving Blaise that look, "but there are others present that wish to express our gratitude and praise for defeating Tartarus." I smile at that before opening my arms to my family and just like that we are crash into each other. We hold onto each other not wanting to let go. Eventually, we all let go and take a moment to look at the damage that the battle had done to Hogwarts. I realized that I may have been a little blind to what was happening with the wizards as I fought my own battles with the giants and then Tartarus because I saw more bodies than I expected lying motionless on the ground with someone or multiple someones crowding around them.
Headmaster McGonagall sighs, "I guess I have to send letters to so many parents." I stare at the bodies before assessing my power limit. The burn beneath my skin wasn't too bad and I think I had enough strength to do one more big power use.
"No, you won't have to." I say stopping her from moving toward the fallen wizards and witches. Blaise realized what was going on so he grabbed my arm and pulled me to face him before I could step toward those who were dead.
"Atlantia, you don't have enough strength to raise everybody from the dead. Besides, a lot of them have been dead for more then twenty minutes. I doubt you could raise those. Please, don't try. You are going to just kill yourself." Blaise pleaded. I knew he was probably right but I still couldn't allow them to just stay dead. It was my fault that they had this battle. If they never met me, then Tartarus would have never come to Hogwarts.
"I'm sorry Blaise." I say giving him a small kiss before pushing him away gently. "But I can't just leave them to have a final death." I walk toward the closet body who I recognize to be one of the Slytherins in the year below me. She was a great friend who was really talented at charms. I placed my hand on her shoulder before singing.
Ocean hear my cry
let your power in me shine
Reverse the clock
heal the clock
Save the one who was hurt
Change the Fate's design
heal what once was fine
Bring back what once was mine
As the last word was spoken, I pushed the energy outward toward all the fallen wizards and witches. All around me I could see all the wizards and witches including the Slytherin girl below me breathe as their injuries heal. However, I felt a severe burning under my skin before collapsing next to the girl and as I closed my eyes, I saw Blaise standing over shouting at me to not leave him.
