"Blaise, has the mail come yet?" I call to him as I make breakfast for the two of us. It was about the end of October and the shop was still doing well as well as Blaise and I. We have been officially dating now for about a year and a half now which was amazing. It feels like it has been longer since we had been friends for years before we officially started dating. We didn't want to celebrate the anniversary because of my past with too many death anniversaries so I prefer to remember anniversaries but not celebrate them.
"Yeah, just now." Blaise said coming from the window. I see an owl flying away.
"Anything important?" I ask him as I divided the bacon, eggs, and toast between the two of us.
"Yeah, actually." Blaise said sliding into his chair as he hands me a letter. I take it as I slide into the seat across from him, "Apparently, we're being asked to be some guest professors at Hogwarts by Professor Slughorn."
"That's a surprise," I say taking a bite of my eggs, "I didn't think Hogwarts had guest professors."
"I didn't think so either but I guess they do now." Blaise said smiling at me, "Unless you don't want to accept which is fine with me."
"No, I'm fine with teaching and also it will give us a chance to visit Ginny." I say smiling at him before scanning over the letter, "So, we need to be there in two weeks and we'll stay a whole week teaching each class before leaving to go home...hmmm...it seems like Professor Slughorn wants us to come every other month if that's possible."
"That's doable." Blaise remarks, "We don't have the potion shop because we need money since most of the money goes toward charity so I guess we can come be guest professors for him every other month."
"Then I will send an owl with our response after breakfast." I say agreeing with his statement. I smile, "I guess we get to spend Halloween at Hogwarts. That will be fun."
"Yeah, do you know what you want to teach the students?" Blaise said taking my plate, "If we're guess professors, it might be fun to teach them something they won't learn in the class."
"We could do one of the healing potions that I got from Apollo." I suggested as I began to walk to the stairs so I could get started on the daily potions. "Or we could teach them how to make nectar but that is super difficult and the ingredients are hard to get to."
"Healing potion works since yours actually heal really well compared to the other wizard's potions." Blaise said following me down the stairs.
"So, healing potion than?" I confirm.
"Yeah, healing potion just choose one of them and I'll book mark it during our lunch break." Blaise said as he turns the closed sign to open. I nod before slipping into the potion making room to begin the potions that needed to be restocked on the shelves and the requested ones.
The next two weeks flew by like always since the shop was always quite busy and I had a lot of get togethers with Hermione, Ron, and Harry as well as my Slytherin friends. I don't think I had a day where I had nothing since the shop is open everyday unless we had something to do like our guest teaching so we put up our notice that we would be not open this week and we had also told all of our customers before we closed. So we shouldn't have any annoyed customers saying they didn't know we weren't open or we were going to be closed this week. Once that was done, we made our way to Platform 9 3/4 since the Hogwarts Express was supposed to depart as soon as we arrived. It felt sort of weird when we arrived on the opposite side of the wall since there was nobody there. No parents saying goodbye to their children. No children running toward their friends ready for the school year. It felt weird being that it was only us two heading to Hogwarts.
We chose one of the random compartments and set out bag down on the seat next to us as we take out different things we needed to do. I had taken a couple of potion pots with us since the train ride was pretty long so I was going to get some potions done as Blaise worked on our lesson. I took one of the potion pots and began to make the potions and for the ones that needed to simmer, I was going to push the pot into one of the empty compartments.
By the time we had arrived at Hogwarts, I had a couple orders done for the shop so when we open up next week again, those people can pick them up. Blaise helped me clean up the pots before helping me out of the train. It was nighttime already and I knew we would be arriving during dinner. Together we made our way up to Hogwarts and when we walked through the hallway, we could hear the chatter from the Great Hall which put a small smile on our faces as we walked through the doors. The chatter instantly stopped when people saw who stepped through the doors. Headmaster McGonagall stood up when she saw us.
"It is my great honor to introduce Atlantia Brooks and Blaise Zabini. They will be here for one week as guest professors for your potions class invited by Professor Slughorn." She said smiling at us, "I believe you two will also return every couple of months to be our permanent guest professors. I know many of you most likely know those two since they were students here last year but you should still try to treat them like guests as that it what they are. Because of their hard work, they were able to open a potions store that was instantly popular so I hope you can try to gain some of their knowledge on potions during the time they are here." We smile at her as we make our way down the center row of the Great Hall. I saw from some of who I assume to be first years staring at Blaise and I in awe. Most likely because they heard about us from the older students. We sat down at the end of the professors' table where two empty seats were waiting for us. Once we sat down, the chatter started up again but occasionally Blaise and I would catch some of the students staring at us with interest and I could tell they were gossiping about us.
"You know, we're going to get some questions not relating to the healing potion tomorrow, right?" Blaise chuckles as as he looks at me.
"I know. I just hope they don't ask anything about our love life." He laughs at that but I wasn't far off. The very first class was with the seventh years Gryffindor and Slytherins who all knew Blaise and I so they all began to ask about how our relationship was going. Slughorn was just amused at what was going on so he just allowed the conversation to continue. Eventually though Blaise and I get the class on topic of learning how to do the potion by adding a reward.
"Alright, whoever does the best version of the healing potion gets a bottle of Tyche's luck potion." I say so done with the relationship questions since most of them came from Ginny even though I have no clue why since she had dinner with me and Blaise every Sunday all summer. "Tyche is the goddess of luck for those who don't remember. The bottle will be enough to grant you a whole twenty-four hours of good luck but you are not allowed to use it on a day full of tests and exams since that is illegal. Use it on a normal day to turn it into a very good day."
"I put the instructions on the board." Blaise said turning back to the class after using magic to put the words on the board. "It should only take forty-five minutes to complete this healing potion if you do it correctly and we have an hour left in the class. Good luck." With that the class quickly got busy and Blaise and I were finally not bombarded with questions so as I walked around the class helping when I was needed, Blaise began making some of the potions we had orders unless he got called to help someone. By the end of class, we had some pretty decent healing potions to give to Madam Pomfrey, three orders started for the potion shop, and Colin Creevey was rewarded the luck potion.
