"It's so exciting," Millicent was saying as we sat in our room. "I didn't think we would get another chance to experience another Yule Ball." I smile as I use my powers to finish her hair and makeup.
"I didn't either." I say, "but hopefully this one will be better."
"Oh, it definitely will be better, Atlantia." Pansy said as she walked over in her teal dress. "You have Blaise as a date. If his proposal was anything to go by, he is so head over heals for you. He is bound to want to make this day memorable in a good way instead of the bad way like last time." I just give her a smile as well before gesturing for her to sit as I do her makeup and hair.
When it was getting close to the time for us to go meet our dates outside the Great Hall, Pansy, Millicent, and I went to meet Ginny and Hermione by the library. They looked gorgeous in their dresses and I knew each of our dates were going to have their jaws drop to the floor especially Harry. Ginny looked absolutely stunning and innocent in that pale blue dress. Ron is probably be stunned when he saw Hermione but he probably won't know how to show it. Together, we all walk toward the Great Hall with excitement blooming between all of us. We turn the last corner and appear at the top of the stair. Staring up at us from the bottom of the stairs was our dates with looks of shocks but in a good way. When I made eye contact with Blaise, I could see the love in his eyes as he stared up at me. He quickly makes his way to me and helps me down the last few steps.
"You look stunning, Atlantia." Blaise said gently taking my hand to his lips and giving me a small kiss.
"Thank you," I say eyeing his dress robes. They were very fashionable and I realized that one of my friends must have told him the color of my dress because his dress robes matched the aqua color of my dress. Blaise surprisingly was able to pull off the outfit. "You look amazing as well...Who told you what my dress looked like?"
He smirked, "Pansy and Millicent. You know those two are like the older sisters you never had." I laugh at that. Blaise offers his arm to me so I gently loop my arm around his before allowing him to lead me into the Great Hall. The hall looked amazing with the ceiling looking like the night sky with dazzling sparkling lights covering it. The hall had white circle tables with candles on them scattered around the outer edges of the hall. In the center, was a space for dances. Decorating the whole hall were multiple different flower bouquets.
"It's beautiful," I say as Blaise leads me through the small crowds of students already dancing and admiring the hall.
"Not as beautiful as you," He says looking at me.
"That was cheesy." I say giving him a teasing smile.
"Doesn't make it any less true." Blaise said. "So would the most beautiful woman in this room like to dance?"
"Of course." I say gently placing my hand on his shoulder as he placed his on my hip. The music was a simple waltz as wizards and witches entered the party. He and I stayed on the dance floor for most of the evening just enjoying the company of each other. There was nothing big or anything that most people would probably call exciting but to me it was the perfect evening. Just a moment to spend time with my boyfriend and my friends. I was saddened when the evening ended but it definitely made me forget that night four years ago.
The rest of the school year went slowly by. There was only about 3 weeks left in the year after the Yule Ball 2.0 and for us seventh years that mainly consisted of us preparing for our lives outside of Hogwarts. Blaise didn't want to return to his mother since she still hasn't apologized or even sent an owl to check that her son was alive so I told him he could permanently move in. We figured that since we were serious in starting our own potions shop, that we were buy a home with a fireplace so we could easily get to Diagon Alley.
However, we still had to get through those 3 weeks and Headmaster McGonagall was determined to make sure we earned our graduation. She had all the professors give us a final test that apparently would determine if we would graduate. It frightened everybody in our year but when we got to test day it was apparently a joke since all the professors gave us awards for graduating and making it through these years with the battles against Voldemort and Tartarus.
"I'm going to miss you around here, Atlantia." Professor Snape said after the awards ceremony. I had got an award that said bravest and stupidest student at Hogwarts. Apparently, I am brave for always risking my life but also stupid for doing it. I understood since I knew I almost died like every year and died once. "You are one of the few students that I actually like much less can stand to be around."
"Thanks, Snape." I say giving him as smile, "I'm glad I chose to be a Slytherin. It may not be my character but I definitely wouldn't want to be in another house."
"I'm glad." He says before nodding toward Blaise who was chatting with Draco, Harry, and Professor Flitwick. "He treating you right?"
"You my dad now?" I tease.
"You have like thousands of "dads" and none of them check in on you unless you're dying, or they need you to save the world." Snape points out. I couldn't argue with that.
"Yeah, Blaise is treating me right. He never pushes me to do anything and truly cares for me." I say, "I hope it stays that way."
"You haven't check the future?" Snape asked surprised.
"No, I guess I want to have a sliver of a normal life so seeing if a relationship will work out will be discovered as it happens." I say giving him a smile.
"Well, I think you and him will stay together for a while." Snape says before excusing himself and heading off into the crowd.
The party was a nice way to end my time at Hogwarts but it also saddened me because I knew that once the weekend passed, we would all be on our way home leaving the people I've called family. I would miss sharing a room with Millicent and Pansy and the late night parties we would have in the Slytherin common room. I would miss the adventures I had with Harry, Hermione, and Ron even though those adventures were not supposed to be part of the Hogwarts experience but I still enjoyed the time I had with my family.
The last day was finally here and we were all loading ourselves onto the Hogwarts Express for the last time. Harry, Hermione, Ron, Draco, Millicent, Pansy, Ginny, and I all sat together talking. Ginny still had one more year but she said it wouldn't be the same without us around. I didn't blame her. The last couple years truly bonded all of us together and it would never be broken. It was bittersweet as the Hogwarts Express pulled into Platform 9 3/4. We grabbed out chests and wheeled them out to the platform where I saw Mrs. Weasley waiting for Harry, Ron, and Ginny, Hermione's parents were also there. Lucius and Mrs. Malfoy was also waiting there for Draco. Millicent and Pansy both disappeared off to their families leaving Blaise and I watching the happy reunions. Blaise's mother didn't come to pick him up so I assuming that she has disowned him for wanting to be with me. It made me feel bad that I caused such a rift in Blaise's family but Blaise assured me that the rift was slowly building long before I entered his life.
"You ready, Atlantia?" Blaise asks after a few minutes of watching our friend's reunions.
"Ready as I will ever be." I say. Blaise offers me his hand and I take it before melting us into the shadows and taking us to my home to begin our new chapter in our lives.
