"Come on, you have got to know that Blaise is thinking of marry you, Atlantia." Ginny was saying as we were shopping for clothes. It was the middle of June so Blaise and I decided to have separate days with our friends. He with the boys and I with the girls. "Harry is hiding something from me after he and the boys, including your boyfriend, went to watch a quidditch game after he and Ron came back from Auror training."
"I mean sure I hope, he and I would marry eventually." I say as I pull a shirt off the rack and put it over my body to see how it looked in the mirror. "but I am seventeen, I am a little young to marry."
"You were a little young for a lot of things," Pansy says with grin. "Besides marrying is just basically making you and Blaise officially bonded together for the rest of your lives since I doubt you two are going to fall out of love. Why wait?" I decide to direct the conversation toward another person since I honestly didn't care when or if Blaise decides to propose to me because I already feel married to him. It's just up to him to make it official. Besides, he is going to have ask my parents for permission so I don't blame him for waiting since that would be really nerve-wracking.
"Well, if you are getting on the concept of marriage at my age, why not Harry and Ginny?" I say looking at her with a grin. "Harry will be turning 20 soon and Ginny will be 19. If you guys want me married now, wouldn't be the same for those two?"
"Harry just got back from Auror training and we haven't had many dates yet so I doubt we will be getting married." Ginny says chuckling as we walk up to the register to pay for our chosen outfits.
"Yes, but you guys have known each other for what nine years?" I say as we grab our bags and hand the money to the cashier.
"Yeah, but..." Ginny trails off before giving our group a smile, "Ok, I got an idea. Let's make a bet on who will propose first: Harry, Ron, or Blaise."
"What are we betting?" I ask liking this idea.
"How about winner or winners get to pick the loser or losers outfit for one normal day?" Herminoe suggests, "It can't be for a party, wedding, or any other type of event but for normal day wear for when we go shopping or at work, the winners pick their outfit?" We all grin at that because we know that will be fun.
"Deal," We all say before I take out a piece of parchment paper and a quill with ink before we begin writing who voted on who. It ended up being spread out like this:
Blaise: Ginny, Hermione, Pansy
Ron: nobody
Harry: Millicent, Atlantia
We felt sort of bad that nobody thought Ron was going to propose but we all knew that him and Hermione were not ready to be married and that was honestly fine so it was basically between Blaise and Harry.
"So, basically we are saying if Ron proposes to Hermione than everybody loses and no one will get to dress anyone?" Pansy says as we look over the paper.
"Basically," Ginny says with a grin.
"Alright girls, may the best women win." Hermione says before we all laugh and made our way to our respective homes. It was probably a few weeks later when we got our answer.
It was at the Weasley's summer dinner and for once, everyone was actually there. Typically, one or more people weren't there but it was understandable since we all had really busy jobs. Anyway, we had just finished dinner and was sitting on the patio outside enjoying the cool summer evening when Harry stood up from his chair clearing his throat. A confused silence falls upon the group not knowing what he wanted though the girls and I had our suspicions. He looked really nervous as he exchanges a look with Ron who gives him a thumbs up before Harry turns to Ginny.
"Ginny, my Ginevra," Harry began moving to stand directly in front of her, "It was here in this very home that we met for the very first time. You were so star-struck to see me that you couldn't even give me a small smile before you disappeared from the room." There was laughter at that as Ginny smiles at the memory but I could see the tears in her eyes as she couldn't believe this was really happening, "But you got over it and I'm glad you did because you became my friend, a friend I cared so much about that you became my girlfriend. And now, I ask my friend of nine years and girlfriend for two, will you be my wife?"
Ginny couldn't speak she was so happy with tears running down her face. She had to be satisfied with just nodding her head frantically as Harry pulls her to her feet and places the beautiful ring on her hand. I cheered with the rest of the Weasleys, and others as Harry and Ginny kiss signifying the acceptance of the marriage proposal. When they pull apart, the guys all head over to congratulate Harry as the girls all come over to Ginny to see the ring.
"I guess this means that Millicent and Atlantia won." Ginny said smiling stupidly as we examined her ring. We laugh but Mrs. Weasley looked confused at that.
"What does that mean, dearies?" She asks looking at us.
"We knew the guys were planning a proposal but we didn't know who would be proposing and to who." I explain, "So, we came up with a bet to see who would propose first. Millicent and I thought Harry would be the first to propose but the others thought Blaise would."
"What did you bet?" Mrs. Weasley asks curious.
"Those two get to choose our outfits for one unimportant day." Hermione said pointing at us with a small smile. We all laugh at that since we all knew that the outfit would be embarrassing in some way.
"Alright enough of this bet talk." Ginny said smiling, "We need to talk wedding and Atlantia, I want you to help design the dresses."
"Design the dresses?" I say surprised.
"Yeah, I want my friends to all be apart of the wedding and I think it would be cool if we would all have unique dresses that you can't find on a store's rack." Ginny explains.
I smile at that, "If you want unique, we can visit Aphrodite. She always has the best fashion ideas and she could help design our gowns."
"Do you think she could do matching tuxedos for the guys?" Ginny said looking at Harry with a fond smile.
"Ginny, this is Aphrodite, the goddess of love we are talking about. She would have a fit if the lovebirds don't have a complementing outfit with the bridesmaids and grooms not matching either." I say with a straight serious face before bursting out laughing with everyone else because the girls knew I had Aphrodite help pick out my outfit for an anniversary dinner with Blaise. That was a mistake. She through a fit when I said I didn't know what Blaise was wearing since she was trying to get me to match him. Aphrodite didn't calm down till I went into the future to show her what Blaise would wear.
The girls, Ginny, and I continue to talk about her engagement and the wedding for a little bit till the guys joined us. Blaise walked over to me and wrapped an arm around me.
"Heard about the bet you and the girls made." Blaise said looking at me a grin. "You didn't think I would be the one to propose?"
I give him a smile, "You have to talk to the gods to ask for permission. Harry just has to ask Mr. Weasley who isn't as scary as Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, and the rest of my dads. You have it harder so I was just thinking you would need more time to ask for permission."
He gives me a grin, "Nice comeback." He turns his attention back to the crowd of friends and family congratulating the couple just feeling content to stay in each other's arms as we watch the happy couple rejoice in the next step in the relationship.
