When I stared at Atlantia as we watch Harry and Ginny celebrate their engagement after she mentioned that she didn't think I would be the first to propose because of how many people I would have to ask, I couldn't help feel that I wish that was us. I made a decision that I needed to begin asking for her hand from those closest to her. It would take a while because we were always together due to us living together and working together but I could do it. I would just have to ask the boys for some help by asking for some guys' days where I could disappear to go ask for her hand from her friends and family. The hardest would be her parents but I think I would leave that for last. For now, I will just celebrate Harry's engagement and await the time that would be Atlantia and I.
The first people I would need to ask would be the Weasleys. I figure that would be the easiest since they treat me like a son already so it shouldn't be too nerve-wracking but boy was I wrong. It was August and Atlantia was taking a day to help Ginny with her wedding planning since she was deemed the maid-of-honor so I said I was going to take a day with the boys. After breakfast with the boys, I told them I would meet them at the Quidditch match that was happening later tonight with Ron after I ask the Weasleys for Atlantia's hand. So Ron and I apparated to his home and when we were walking up to the door, I felt a wave of nerves hit me. I took a shaky break as Ron enters the house. Mrs. Weasley was in the kitchen cooking something and she smiled at the two of us when we entered.
"Ron, Blaise, what are you two doing here? I thought you were going to a Quidditch game with the other boys." Mrs. Weasley said confused.
"Ummm." I begin before clearing my throat, "Is Mr. Weasley home? I want to talk to you and him about something."
"Yes, he is upstairs. I will get him. You just go sit in the living room and I will be right there with him." Mrs. Weasley says giving me a smile before moving past Ron and I to get to the stairs. Ron takes a glance at the clock that shows where everyone was and saw that his brothers were home as well so he said he would get them. He disappeared so I was left alone with my nerves. A few minutes later the whole Weasley family appeared except for Ginny since I plan to ask Atlantia's girlfriends last so they don't spoil the news. Those girls can't keep a secret.
"So, what did you want to talk to all of us about?" Percy asked as he sat on the couch with the twins as the other Weasleys filled in the other seats.
I took a deep breath before speaking, "So, I know Atlantia considers you guys to be family and I do as well. That is why I wanted to ask you guys as her second family if I could have permission to marry Atlantia." Silence fills the room as the Weasleys all stare at me in shock and I was sure my heartbeat could be heard throughout the room but then Mrs. Weasley spoke.
"Of course, you can marry Atlantia. It took you long enough to ask." Mrs. Weasley said getting up for her seat and embracing me in a hug, "Honestly, I thought you would have proposed before Harry based on how much you two love each other." I was surprised but very excited so I returned the hug before standing and looking at the rest of the family.
"You have our blessing." The twins say at the same time, "But know if you do anything to hurt Atlantia, we have some things at the shop that you wouldn't find funny." I laugh but I knew they were serious so I confirmed for them verbally that I wouldn't hurt Atlantia before chatting with the rest of the family. Eventually though, Ron and I disappear to the Quidditch game with the rest of our group so we could keep this meeting a secret.
Over the next few months, I had a few small meetings with Atlantia's close friends and family to see if they were fine with the marriage like some of the professors and other friends that we don't see in person often because of weird scheduling issues but we still managed with iris messaging sometimes.
However, in the beginning of December a few weeks before Ginny's and Harry's marriage, I finally had to do the hardest meeting out of them all. I had to ask Atlantia's parents, the gods and goddesses that could easy smash me in an instant if they don't like me so to say I was scared was an understatement.
Atlantia needed to spend the day with Ginny and the rest of the bridesmaid as they worked out the final details of the wedding so she was going to be back late in the day allowing me to disappear to Olympus. I called on Cupid since he mentioned months ago that when I was ready to ask the gods and goddesses, he would take me so I took him up on his offer.
"Finally," Cupid said when he appeared, "I thought you were never going to get up the nerve to ask the gods." He offers me his arm. "Come on, I already asked the Norse, and Egyptian gods and goddesses for you so you don't have to worry about them." I take it and instantly I feel myself being pulled through the air and I find myself in the throne room. The gods and goddesses seem to all, or at least a good chunk of them since there was way too many of them to fit in this room.
"Cupid, why did you call a meeting?" Zeus boomed when he spotted the man. He then looked surprised when he saw me standing next to Cupid. "Blaise, my boy why are you here?"
"He is why I called this meeting." Cupid said with a knowing smile, "I'll let him explain." Cupid pushes me in front of him before stepping back leaving me in the center of the gods and goddesses who all looked at me expectantly. I cleared my throat and started the same speech I've been giving for the last few months.
"I'm sure you know that I love Atlantia and we have been dating for a few years now." I begin, "So, I wanted to ask for your permission to marry her?" Immediately, Aphrodite spoke when she heard that.
"Oh my goodness." She said fanning herself, "It's finally happening. My daughter has finally secured love. Yes, yes! I give you permission." The others gods and goddesses quickly said similar things and I felt my nerves fade away until Hades stepped forward.
"I think its clear that we all want you to marry our daughter so before you leave how about you come down to my palace to check my vault for an engagement ring?" He says giving me a smile that I think was meant to be reassuring but it came off as a little sinster just because of his vibe. However, I still nod and allow him to take me to the palace. He leads me through the dark palace that was only lit by the green Greek fire sitting in torches on the wall adding to the evil, creepy vibe but I sort of liked it though I was still happy when we reached the vault and I can begin the search for a ring.
Hades mostly allowed me to search for the ring by myself but he still offered some suggestions when I got stuck which I appreciated. We were probably searching for an hour till I found the perfect ring. It was a diamond ring with a diamond that wasn't too dainty but it wasn't too chunky that it didn't look too weird on a finger. The band of the ring was a pretty silver color but I wanted to make it more special so I took out my wand and made an engravement on the ring's band that I knew would speak to Atlantia's heart. Hades looked over my shoulder to read the engravement.
"Does that mean something to Atlantia?" He asks curious as he looks at the ring.
I nod, "It was one of the first times that Atlantia basically said she loved me and that I loved her. We loved that memory and I think she would appreciate being reminded of it as I propose to her."
"I think she would as well." Hades says smiling, "Go on now. You need to return home before Atlantia gets suspicious and ruin the surprise." I smile and I thank him for allowing me to get a ring from his vault before he sends me home to find a place to hide the ring until I am ready to propose to Atlantia.
