I rubbed my hands over my face to try to relieve the stress as I sat in the dungeon with the lunch I asked the House-elves to bring so I could focus on my grading and the assignments I needed to do for my own classes. It felt nice to talk to Blaise and my other friends about my PTSD but I couldn't tell them about the enemy that is whispering in my ear. Not until I had figured out who it was. I couldn't pinpoint the voice but I knew it wasn't Voldemort so it had to be someone from my demigod life. Problem was that I killed so many during that time which meant I had a lot of enemies and all want revenge on me. I mean there is Kelli, Dr. Thorn, Kronos (though I am not sure how he would be alive since his mind was so spread out that they would never be able to repair it enough to be reborn), the rest of the titans, the giants, and you get the idea.
I decided that this weekend I needed to talk to one of the few demigods that were left in the Underworld since many chose to be reborn into a new life. So when the weekend finally arrived, I told Blaise I wanted to visit my mom before shadow traveling to the Underworld. I haven't been down here in so long probably my last visit was way before my death. I walked the familiar path toward Elysium. Once inside Elysium, I kept thinking of the demigod who was still here. When her house finally appeared, I walked up to her door and knocked. The door opened and Clarisse, looking happier than I have seen her, smiles when she's me.
"Atlantia, it has been a while." She says hitting me gently on the shoulder before pulling me into a hug. When we pull apart, she sees the look in my eyes and she frowns. "I guess this is not a social visit. Come in," she steps back to give me room to past, "let's see how I can help."
I walk into her living room and collapse into one of her armchairs as Clarisse does the same in the one across from me. She sighs before gesturing for me to explain so I do.
"But you killed everything from our demigod life," Clarisse stated confused after I had finished, "When Tartarus was destroyed, you killed every monster that was in him and doomed the ones in the mortal world to a non-immortal life of being reborn every time they died." My eyes widened at that realizing something.
"Clarisse, do you think the voice could be Tartarus?" I ask with a slight fear in my voice. I barely was able to defeat him the first time and I had emotion driven powers the last time since he had killed every one I loved.
"How could it? You destroyed him like Gaea. They should both be stuck in an endless sleep. Never to use their destructive powers again." Clarisse says but adds when she sees I am not convinced, "Alright, let me hear the voice." I smile thankfully at her before offering her my hand and calling on my memory of the voice. She listens for a moment before releasing my hand quickly. "Hades, it is Tartarus...but how is that possible?"
"I don't know." I said beginning to pace, "I had a small suspicion that it was him but I was hopeful that it wouldn't be. This is not good. If I didn't kill him last time, how am I supposed to kill him this time?"
"You are going to need to tell the wizards up there. I think the only way the world survives if you guys work together." Clarisse says thinking logically. "But do you think their magic will be able to hurt Tartarus?"
"Their magic comes from Hecate so I would hope so." I explain before looking toward the door, "Alright, before Tartarus does something other than whispering to me, I need to talk to them."
"Go," Clarisse says nodding, "But don't forget to come visit me once awhile after you survive his. I'm still your friend and I miss you." I smile and give her a hug but before calling on my powers to take me back to Hogwarts. I returned inside the Slytherin dormitory which is where I was before I visited Clarisse. I didn't see anybody around until I heard Blaise call my name. I turn and see him sitting by the fireplace with his homework in front of him.
"How was your visit with your Mom?" He asks giving me a smile. I sigh not wanting to keep the lie up now that I had discovered who it was.
"I lied. I wasn't visiting my Mom. I need to talk to you and everyone else. We have a problem." I admit. His smiles drops before nodding.
"Ok, what's going on Atlanita? You never have hidden something from me before." Blaise says hurt.
"I know but I hid this because I didn't want to frighten anybody till I knew it was a problem." I say guilty for hurting him, "Come with me to Headmaster McGonagall and I'll explain everything." He nods and follows me to her office. It was silent the whole walk there which I understood. I betrayed him from keeping something from him this big even if it was for a good reason. When we arrive at McGonagall's office, we knock before hearing her call us in.
"Minerva, we have a big problem." I tell her immediately when we enter. She was writing something on parchment paper when we came in and she looked up quickly at the tone of my voice and my use of her first name since I never do that.
"Atlantia, what's going on?" McGonagall asked setting her quill down.
"I have been hearing a voice since the beginning of this year." I admit, "At first, I thought I was just hallucinating but then I realized I wasn't when today I talked to an old friend from my demigod life." I look at Blaise, "I did go to the Underworld today but it was not for my Mom. It was for my friend Clarisse. I talked to her and allowed her to listen to the voice and she confirmed my worst fear...Tartarus is back and is looking for revenge against me." Blaise's anger falls from his face when he realizes what I was hiding.
"Tartarus? Isn't that the primordial figure that houses all the monsters you fought throughout your early life?" McGonagall asked her eyes wide.
"Yeah, and I thought I killed him but apparently I didn't and he wants revenge for that." I say collapsing in the chair near her desk, "If I wasn't able to fight him on my own even with my powers guided by my emotions, I need help if the world has any hope of surviving."
"How can we fight Tartarus if you couldn't fight him?" Blaise asked incredulously, "I mean you are more powerful than us and you couldn't kill him."
"But I was alone. If you guys fight with me, your magic and my powers should be able to kill him." I say before sighing, "I know that the wizard world is recovering from Voldemort but Tartarus will do much worst than anything Voldemort could have ever done."
"Alright we will help, but do we know when he will attack or where he is?" McGonagall asked knowing this was not going to end well.
"No, but the only thing we could for now until he reveals himself is train." I say, "I can take you guys through my memories of Tartarus and create simulations of him so we can train to fight him because fighting Greek mythological creatures is different than anything you guys have ever fought. The only way we have a chance is to show you how to fight like a demigod with magic."
McGonagall nods, "Tonight at dinner, I will alert the students of the situation as well as send out letters to parents. To those in year 4 and up, I will offer them the chance to fight but I will not allow those too young to fight."
"I understand." I say agreeing. "I can also talk about what is going on and explain what I know."
"Then it is settled. Go enjoy the rest of the day to the best of your ability and I pray to the your parents that you are right and we can defeat Tartarus." McGonagall said the worry seeping into her voice.
"You and me both." I say as Blaise wraps his arm around me, "You and me both."
