A week after we had left Hogwarts for the last time, Blaise and I were going shop hunting in Diagon Alley. We really wanted to open our own potions shop because we both enjoyed potions and we knew it would most likely be a popular shop since I wanted to add some potions that came from my demigod life.
"Do you want to be close to the Weasleys?" Blaise asked that morning as he handed me my coffee.
"If there are any shops available, it would be nice to be close to the Weasleys." I admit, "We should talk to them before we begin searching for the right place for the shop. I want to check with them to see if they want the partnership."
Blaise nods his head understanding, "Yeah, but I think they are fine with it. They sell some potions at their shop but they're all joke potions so they could purchase them for us and we don't sell them at our shop."
"Sounds good to me." I say. I glance at the clock before standing up and walking to the fireplace. Blaise is still not allowing me to use my huge powers unnecessarily since I was still recovering but I understood. I did almost die twice in the last year so I could understand his concern. "Fred and George should be opening the shop soon so we should go talk to them before they get busy."
Blaise nods and grabs the urn filled with the floo powder. He held out the open vase to me so I could grab some of the powder. I took some in my hand and stepped into the fireplace before shouting "Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes" and throwing the powder down. I disappear in a flash of green smoke before appearing inside the Weasley's joke shop. Fred and George were on the top of the stairs in the shop overlooking some of the early customers that came in when the spot me stepping out of the fireplace with Blaise right behind me.
"Atlantia!" Fred calls out happily. He and George quickly made their way down the stairs by sliding down the banister stopping right in front of me and Blaise. George and Fred envelope me and Blaise in a hug.
"So you two finally graduated from Hogwarts?" George says grinning when we pulled apart.
"Yeah, have you seen Harry, and the others yet?" I ask him curious if they have come visit yet but the twins shake their heads.
"Not yet but Ron told us that they would come visit next week. Right now, they are working on getting into their careers...By the way, what are you two planning on doing? I know Ron and Harry plan on becoming Aurors and Hermione is planning on working in the Ministry." Fred said gesturing for us to follow him to their office that was in the back of the shop.
"Actually, that is one of the reasons we wanted to visit." Blaise admits, "Atlantia and I want to open a potions shop in Diagon Alley and we want to create a partnership with you." Fred and George look surprised at that.
"Atlantia, you don't want to become an Auror? I thought that would be a perfect job for you" Fred says a little surprised.
I shrug, "Maybe it is for what I am known as, the hero. The young girl who fights for others but I never liked war and I have had enough of drama. I love making potions and being able to hopefully have something to pass on to my children sounds good to me."
"Mom, would love that you aren't doing something dangerous any more." George admits. "Oh, she sent a message the other day telling Fred and I that if you showed up at the shop to tell you to go visit her. She misses you."
"I will." I promised. "Now, about the partnership. Blaise and I were thinking that we could make the potions that you need or want for the shop at a discounted price. We won't sell it at our shop so it would be exclusively sold at your shop."
"Sound good to us." Fred said nodding after exchanging a look with his brother.
"Great," I say smiling. Blaise and I chat with the Weasley twins for another hour before we decided we needed to go look for a location for our shop. When we exited the shop, we begin to scout the shops that were being shown to be open to being bought or rented. Most of Diagon Alley was occupied which was different from last year. The shop owners wanted to return to Diagon Alley now that Voldemort was dead so there wasn't as many options for us as we hoped but we found a really cute shop that was only about 2 blocks from the Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes so it wasn't far. The shop itself was pretty big and it would be able to fit the shelves that we would place the potions on as well as space for a personal ordering booth and ingredients display. There was room in the back, in addition to the potion making room, to make a storage room which was great since we would need to store extra potions and ingredients. To add to our happiness of the place, there was an apartment available to be bought above the shop.
"I think this is the one." Blaise said as we looked around the two bedroom apartment.
"I agree." I say smiling at him. "Let's go talk to the Goblins at Gringotts. We need to get this place before someone else does." Most of the empty buildings in Diagon Alley was owned by the bank so to be able to buy one of the places, you need to go to the bank. Lucky for us, the goblins were willing to immediately help us so an hour later we were walking out of the bank with the deed in our hands and the keys to the store but when we arrived back at the store, we saw a woman and a teen probably about twelve were scouting the inside of the store unaware that the store was just bought.
"I'm sorry but can we help you?" Blaise says politely when we stepped inside our store. The woman and teen turned toward us.
"Yes, you can. You are the two bank officials that my husband went to get to buy this store correct?" The woman said in a tone that made her sound like she was more important than she was. She gestures to the deed and keys in our hands when we just stare at her confused. "I'm assuming he bought it and you are delivering the keys and deed to us so I'll take those." Blaise holds them away from her.
"I'm sorry but we were the ones who just bought this store and we are going to have to ask you to leave so we can begin designing our store." Blaise says stepping to the side as do I to give them room to leave.
"Well, it doesn't matter who I buy this place from so come on, what would you guys want for this place?" She said taking her wallet out.
"We are not selling this place." I say slowly, "We bought it so we could open a shop together."
She laughs, "Children don't run stores so come on tell me your price. I need to begin planning my son's personal spell practice range."
"Well, I'm sorry but you need to find somewhere else because this place is already taken." I say getting a little angry, "So, please leave or I'm going to have to call the authorities."
"Go ahead, sweetie." The woman said looking quite pleased with that statement, "Call them and just watch as they tell you are wrong and make you sell to me." I roll my eyes and send Blaise to go get the security at the bank. Few minutes later a man walks into the building and I deduce that he was this woman's husband when the woman's and the son's eyes lit up.
"Hi Daniel." The woman said like this solved everything, "This girl won't sell this place back to us. Her boyfriend went to get the authorities and it won't be long before this place is ours." The husband looked confused but he couldn't ask anything because Blaise walked in with a few Aurors who were working at the bank.
"Atlantia, these the people giving you trouble?" One of the Aurors said.
"Yeah, they won't take no for an answer." I say, "I have asked them to leave but they won't." They nod and grab the woman, husband, and son and pulled them gently out the door.
"Wait, what?" The woman screamed, "I'm an important member in the Ministry. You can't just do this to me."
"Miss, you may be a member of the Ministry but this is Atlantia Brooks and she has asked you to leave politely. No matter who you are, you are trespassing and need to leave." I watch them leave and listen to the screams of protests from the woman. I just shake my head and shout thank you to the Aurors before locking the door and turning to Blaise ready to begin designing the shop of my dreams.
