I laid on my side, looking out of the window in my room, counting the stars to hopefully help me fall asleep. I sigh lightly in frustration and close my eyes. This is no use. I open my eyes and begin to count the stars once again. I see something flash in the corner of my room. My eyes flicker over to the spot. Nothing. I slowly look away from the corner and back out of the window. It happens again. I quickly look back over at the spot, sitting up on my bed. I stand up, trying to get a closer look without actually having to walk over there. I squint, seeing if that will help. Nothing. I chuckle and roll my eyes. Great. You're going crazy. I lay back down on my bed and get comfortable. I look out of my window, slightly seeing my reflection in it. I shift my focus to looking at my reflection. I frown. Just then, I hear my door being opened slowly. My eyes shift slightly upward, seeing if I can see who it is in the reflection. I see someone with an IV pole and what seems to be a cast. They set something on the table next to the door, standing there for a second, before closing the door and leaving. I turn over and see a small object on the table. I sit up, grabbing my IV pole and walking over to the table. I smile.

-

My eyes blink slowly as while I watch the tv. I jolt awake and groan. My door opens, I turn and see Jisoo. I raise my eyebrow.

"Where's Haeun?"

Jisoo ignores me and walks over to check my vitals.

"I need to take your blood pressure." She says flatly.

I give her my arm and she wraps the band around my arm. She puts the stethoscope in her ears, placing the drum of it to listen. She begins to pump, the band becoming tighter. I focus my attention on her, seeing that's she's focused. She removes the band and takes the stethoscope from her ears, writing on her clipboard. She turns to leave.

"Is she sick?" I asked, a hint of worried laced in my voice.

She stops walking, not turning to look at me.

"No." She says and continues to leave the room.

-

I take a deep breath, letting it out before knocking on the door. I wait for Seojun to answer. Instead, a man in a wheelchair opens the door.

"Oh, is Seojun not here?" I ask.

"No." He replies coldly, already prepared to close the door in my face.

I place my hand on the door, stopping him from closing it. He looks at me, clearly not thrilled by my actions.

"Do you know where he is?" I ask, already losing my patience with him.

"No." He repeats in the same tone.

I scoff and release my hand from the door. He slams it shut.

Both of them are assholes.

-

"And from your recent scanning, we can conclude that you have about a month left." The doctor says to me while showing me scans and charts in a thick file.

"It's finally happening," I say quietly "I'm finally going to die."

She closes the folder harshly, making me make eye contact with her.

"Not unless you get the surgery. You're at the top of the list, you know. Once we get a positive match we can-"

"I don't have the money, you already know that. I don't even know who's going to pay for my hospital bill once I'm gone. I don't even know why you're still even letting me stay here."

"We can't exactly just throw you out on the street. And regarding your bill, we plan on contacting your mother."

"Good luck with that." I spat.
