Isn't it lovely to start a new day by rolling out of bed and hitting the floor.

Face first.

I certainly couldn't imagine a better way.
To those who haven't noticed yet, I am a very sarcastic person, especially when I am tired.

For a moment I actually thought about just staying like I was on the floor, just going back to sleep, when I remembered what had happened yesterday.
In the speed of light, I opened my eyes and was on my feet.

Well, at least I tried to be.
My blanket, tangled in-between my legs, had other plans, which meant my face hit the floor already for the second time that morning.

"Ugh.."

This time I actually stayed on the floor, while looking around the room.

"Holy fuck."

Was all that left my mouth, realising that yesterday wasn't a dream.
I was infact 100 years in the past.
In Birmingham, and the Peaky Blinders, live three streets away.

Not to forget my new job, which I would have to be at in about two hours.
Being honest I was rather excited for this day to start.

While trying to get my legs untangled, I thought about what to wear, to my first day as a designer for a boutique.
I certainly was going to follow the motto 'dress to impress', I was just hoping I wouldn't stand out of the masses.

Obviously I couldn't be wearing a suit like last night, so a dress or skirt it will be.
Also nothing too short, but definitely something with form, not like most dresses of the 20s which were just straight.
They always made me look like I was wearing a paper bag.

In the end I decided to go with a dark blue, dotted dress that ended right on my knees, together with light stockings and black flappers.

A look in the mirror showed me that my hair was all over the place, so that needed fixing.
Eventhough I actually found some powder makeup in the bathroom, I decided against putting it on my skin.
I had clear skin, so why put anything on top of it?

In the end I put on some bright red lipstick and even found Maybelline eyeliner.
It was my go to makeup look, bright lips, dark eyes.
Deciding that I was ready to go I went into the kitchen, made some coffee and grabbed a slice of bread, which I covered with some jam, to eat on the way.
