Chapter 72

He wasn't supposed to be here, rescuing a damsel in distress and acting like a hero but he can't help it.

The moment he learned of her being in danger, he just rushed out of his office without care.

He was feeling heavy at that time, his senses were tingling as if something wrong is about to happen.

So he called her, but no one answered. He called again but it was the same so he decided to call her best friend but his calls never reached hers.

That's when he felt that his hunch might be correct, so he called Zhu Rong Heng and that's when he learned of her rushing into the enemy's lair without caution. 

"That stupid woman" he couldn't help but curse as he drove towards the said destination in tension.

The police officers are behind him while in the front, Zhu Rong Heng leads them. He wished to fly to her side and not waste any more time but he understands the danger of rushing without preparation.

Even so, he felt his heart being clenched tightly as time passes by without seeing her.

It's ridiculous, this situation he's facing, such a ridiculous thing.

Why does he have to get this terrified over her? These turbulent emotions that he's feeling, why does it have to happen now?

He's already late, she's gone and never coming back. But he comforted himself, at least he knows that she's still alive and well, she wouldn't become just a part of his memory and breathe the same air as him.

But now, he regretted it.

He should've put his pride away, he shouldn't have treated her lightly and most of all he shouldn't have let her go.

He finally admits it to himself, he has feelings for his ex-wife.

Now, there's no medicine for regret, all he could do is to forget her and wash away their relationship or what was left of it.

They finally stopped at an abandoned factory and he almost wished he could just run to her side and get her back to safety.

"Remember our plan, Team A, move! Team b, follow after a minute!"

They finally moved and soon, the two of them, Zhu Rong Heng, were stuck waiting outside.

His body feels tense and he couldn't help but stare fiercely at the place in from of him with hatred.

Zhu Rong Heng on the other side couldn't wait anymore and stepped inside, the remaining police officers look at him in a warning.

"Mr. Zhu, you can't come inside, the police will handle this"

"My girlfriend is inside, I want to see her" he gritted but the police officers remain unmoved. He stared at them for a couple of minutes before smiling gently as if nothing happened.

He watched it in the corner of his eyes, Zhu Rong Heng wouldn't give up like that, he must be planning something.

Soon, he found him staring at him, the intention in his eyes was so obvious that he nodded. Shortly, the two of them went to the back of the abandoned factory and saw a window latched upon the top.

They break inside and started to roam inside vigilant, they finally reached the inside and met a police officer.

"You two! Why are the two of you here?! This is dangerous!" He hissed but they remain unaffected, they even went as far as to challenge him.

The police officer was about to pull them out of here when he received a message from his colleagues.

"We found them!"

The two heard the message clear and loud and both of them agreed on their plan. The police officer couldn't do anything about it anymore and just yelled some orders towards the two of them.

Soon, they found A'liu with a gun pointed at Caia which made him lose his mind.
