City lights flashed in his eyes, the mass of people swarm around the street like an ant in his vision while he breathe out the smoke from his cigarette.

His eyes were solemnly looking outside, thinking of yesterday's events and her ambiguous smile.

He was looking at the documents for their next project earlier but then he was suddenly plagued by the thought of that woman's eyes.

Although her smile was as bright as the moon, her eyes cannot hide her true emotion, the darkness that hid beneath the radiance of the moon.

He doesn't plan on having a child.

When they married, she just barely finished college and the childishness in her eyes still remained.

He could not see her as a woman.

She was still a child in his eyes, but now, although she's a grown up in everyone's eyes. Her changes were unnoticed by him, he never had the time to fully look at her.

She was now a lady.

She's pleasing to look at, he thought.

A few years back he wouldn't have even notice her existence even now he wouldn't have known whether the color of her hair changed or if it was long or short but now, something has changed.

And he doesn't know if it's a good one.

...

"I know, don't worry mom, I'm really fine. I love my job and it's not- no, I'm perfectly fine, don't worry too much" I sighed helplessly at my mother's concern.

My parents still thought of me as their little princess who needs their care, I do appreciate it but it's shackling my growth.

My life had already been shackled by fate, chains are not much of a big deal now.

I guess it's both a curse and a blessing for me to have this kind of family, someone who pampers me and cares for me.

Even though my parents are wealthy and much more well known than other family, they do not push me into doing things I do not like.

"Okay mom, I'm going now- yes, I love you too mom" I hang up the phone and stretched my arms.

I just finished checking this week's  lesson plan, now I have to go back to my class and prepare for another lesson.

I went to the bathroom and freshen up when I heard a familiar voice of a woman, I think it was Xuexue. I took a step and wanted to call her when I accidentally heard her conversation with someone.

"I know... you're always like this... when will you leave her?" I heard her sniffing and backed off the cubicle and was about to leave when I heard her last words.

"Wen Ru, do you still love me?"

Wen Ru was our co teacher, and he's already married.
