George woke up the next day, stretching as he slowly opened his eyes, listening to the comforting silence of his room. He stared at his grey ceiling for a while before turning his head to look at the rest of his room.
His walls were a light blue, a desk with three monitor against one of them and a wardrobe, multiple shelves with books against eachother. He had a few posters up above his monitors. Wilbur always mocked him for the posters being game or coding related.
'Minecraft? Really?' He would say as George ignored him and continued to play the game. It was a good game and a good way to relax. Even if dying with all his stuff frustrates him a lot.
He got out of bed, making his bed as soon as he got out. He liked having things organised. It allowed him to know where everything was. He didn't have a huge room but it was big enough for him. He liked it the way it was. Made it cozy and nice. His little home.
He walked to the wardrobe, picking out his clothes for the day. He ended up taking a simple blue hoodie and black trousers. He wasn't planning on going anywhere where he would need to look presentable.
George had decided he would look through the footage in some fresh air. He had been stuck in this room doing stuff with no actual real sunlight. Though he didn't like going outside much, he knew he needed it. Going out from time to time wouldn't hurt him. Besides, if he didn't go out today than sooner or later Phil or the others would force him outside when he didn't want to go.
He got dressed and ready to leave, opening and closing the door behind him. As he walked down the corridor, looking at the doors he passed, signs with names on them. The 'main group' as they called themselves where all the closest people to Phil, being higher up on the chain of workers. They all lived in one corridor, Philza deciding that they deserved to get nice rooms if they were his small group. Phil's other workers were offered rooms else were. Guess you could say that they were all treated like Phil's family, even if he actually had two sons. He walked past the doors, reading the signs as he walked past.
"Techno..."
"Wilbur..."
"Karl..."
He saw Nikki standing in the doorway of her room, the cream walls being visible. George couldn't deny that Nikki probably had the nicest room out of them all. She had a few flowers and a round carpet, drawing on her wall and fake stars stuck to her ceiling. Always very organised and seemed almost like another world.
"Good morning George." She said in a sweet tone "your going out already?"
She was still in her pyjamas, they were a light orange with stars on them. A simple shirt and shorts.
"Yeah, I think I need some fresh air for once..." George admitted as he pointed to his back pack "gotta do the work for Phil too, two in one I suppose."
Nikki slowly nodded as she listened "ahhh I see. Well, be back before it gets dark. I'm sure Phil would get worried."
George found comfort in Nikki, how sweet and caring she was. Not to mention how good she was at voicing her own opinion. She didn't let someone just tell her she was wrong, tell her to step down. She was just a amazing person to work with.
"Okay, I'll make sure to be back before it gets dark. Thanks Nikki."
Before George could continue walking down the corridor, Nikki walked back into her room and returned with a small box. She handed it to George "it was meant to be for me but you probably haven't eaten, there are things important and more important."
George smiled back "thank you again Nikki"
She simply smiled and nodded as he watched George continue walking down the corridor, putting the lunch away in his bag and soon out of sight.
George knew exactly where he was going; to the same place he had always gone when he needed some time out, space and thinking time. The park centre. It wasn't surprisingly crowded and the smell of fresh grass and flowers was always really calming. Perfect place for him to look through the files.
And definitely not a place where people from his world went.
George would get on the bus, sitting at the back and staring out of the window as they drove through the city. He had grown up here his whole live and yet he still found it so interesting. Maybe because he knew more about the city and what happened in it then ordinary people.
It didn't take too long for the bus to stop at 'Park central stop' where George would get out and walk a short way to his usual place on the grass under a large oak which would look directly to a huge water fountain. It was one of the more left alone places, the old statues still remaining in the distance, the city taking pride in its areas so the park itself would be nice and clean.
It was warm even if it was quite early in the morning, people walking their dogs or going on their daily jogs. It was really nice, at least for George.
He would take out his laptop, putting in the USB as he began to see the files flood onto his computer. There would be a lot to get through... but that was alright with George. Phil needed it after all, his effort wouldn't go to waste.
Nikki's sandwich by his side, he began to search one by one through the files.
