Ch. 26-
The man with a grin, George, finally introduces the ladies to me, "This is Elizabeth and Courtney Mahoney,"
"Daddy, you don't have to introduce us. He's my classmate I spoke to you about."
"Oh, yes. The boy who quarrels with Richard Sherman."
Courtney nods her head and laughs. I look at my Dad and notice he turns red from embarrassment. He stares at me and gives me that look of disappointment. I shrug my shoulders.
"He does deserve it." I say.
Thy stare at me as it gets awkwardly silent and my Dad begins to change the subject, "Why don't you go show Courtney around?" He suggest to me and gives me that look that whenever I make a fool of myself that says, you have embarrassed me enough.
I nod my head and turn around as I begin to leave the room. Courtney, who I have left behind, dashes after me and links my arm as we walk out of the room. She wears glittery high heels that sparkle with every step that she take and a sly smirk on her face.
"What a small world," She sighs, happily.
I groan and feel like ripping her off of my arm. She clings on tighter as we walk through the hallway.
"How does your Dad know my Dad?" I ask, confused.
"Dunno," She says, shrugging her shoulders, "Ugh, my Daddy doesn't tell me anything. They are just old friends is what I heard,"
"But I lived in Morocco most of my life..."
"Not your Dad," She giggles at my shocked face expression, "I can't believe that I know your Dad more than you do!"
"Shut up," I grumble.
She pouts her lips that is painted in a pink nude color and changes the subject, "Will you show me your room?" She says, winking.
"No."
"Why not, Ednan?" She purrs in a flirtation tone.
I begin to feel uncomfortable and guilty all at once. I am supposed to be with Skyler right now, not Courtney. My patient and kindness vanishes. I yank my arm away from her, roughly, and shove my hands into my pants pocket.
"Stop being annoying, Courtney." I say sternly as she stares at me shocked.
"You don't have to be rude... Your Dad brought my family over for a reason. We are spending our thanksgiving dinner together,"
"So?" I say.
"So, that means we have more connection and can become the hottest couple ever." She says.
"No, thanks. I don't like you." I say with no emotion.
"You should treat your guest the right way," Courtney protest.
"But you're unwelcomed,"
Courtney groans and rolls her eyes, "You're an idiot. Whoever resists my great body will regret it in the end," She says, confidently.
"But what happens when you become old and wrinkly? Who would love that cold heart of yours?"
She stares blankly at me, "You shouldn't be speaking. You have a heart of ice," She says getting offended.
"Then why do you like me?"
"Cause we are perfect for one another!"
"Just so you know, we never actually dated. You just dragged me around as your dumb doll,"
