Happy holidays! Here is my gift from me to you. Enjoy! <3

Ch. 18-

"Go on," She whispers, daringly.

I keep my head there, unmoving. I hear Richard and Skyler walk by and I tilt my head the other way to obscure the view of our lips from the side that they are walking at. As they leave the hallway Courtney frowns and pushes me away from her.

"Why didn't you kiss me?" She hisses.

"It is all an act, remember?" I reply and step back. Courtney's face scrunches and I chuckle at her unamused expression.

"That is mean."

"Well, no kissing was one of the rules." I remind her.

"You're no fun." She says.

"Well, actually, to me it was kinda fun," I grin and she rolls her eyes.

RING!

The bell rattles as the students stand to leave and hang out in the halls during their 5 minute break. I remain seated and the teacher leaves. Mr.Barber enters the class and begins to walk towards me. He smiles and pulls a chair and sits down.

"Ednan Alamy. May you do a favor for me?"

I shrug my shoulders, "Okay."

"You're full of potential and you're one of the best in my class. I would like for you to come here during lunch time. Will you do that for me?"

"Yeah, but what for?" I ask.

"Our school is entering a competition for a history project and I am asking many students to come and you're one of the students I have chosen to participate in this contest."

"Okay, I could come during lunch time. What day do you want me?"

"Today. Bring your lunch to the classroom if you're eating." Mr.Barber says.

I nod my head that I understood and he stands, pushes his chair in where it belongs, and leaves the room. The bell rings and everyone returns.

I head to the classroom during lunch time. There are other student there too. I sit in the back keeping my distance from them. Mr.Barber explains that a competition across the state is starting. A history project were a group of student must write a 6,000 word essay based on anything other then American history. The prize money is 10,000 dollars for the winners. Mr. Barber passes out flyers about the project that gives the due date and more information.

He speaks up and says, "If anyone is interested I would like for you to work together in a group. You are talented students and if this group wins you can spread the prize equally amongst yourselves."

One boy with thick classes replies, "The prize money is what I get for my allowance." The rest of the students laugh and agree with him.

Another student speaks up, "Barber you wasted our lunch time!" She says.

They leave the flyers behind and exit the room. One paper floats in the air and lands near my feet. I stand, collect the flyers from the floor and off the desk, and hand them to Mr.Barber.

"The students are right. Somebody who needs the money more than a few rich kids can have it, instead." I tell him.

"Oh, not all the students are rich at this school." He replies, "Thank you for helping," He says holding the flyers.

I stuff my hand into my pocket pants and shrug my shoulders, "No problem, Mr.Barber."

A blonde head peeps inside the class, "Hey, Ednan! I have been waiting for you!" Courtney says a little too loud from excitement.
