Ch. 11-
I walk through a foggy eerie graveyard in the dark. The fog is too thick that I could only see a few feet in front of me and a blurry moon. The crunching of the fallen leaves beneath my feet and the branches that scratch against the stone building are the only sounds I hear in the silent night.
A cool breeze blows and I tighten my jacket around me. Not because of the cold, but from fear. The bare trees dance wilder as it keeps scraping against the cement building. Goosebumps rush over me and I stand not knowing where I am. I unruffled my wings and kept walking, searching for an exit.
I feel something pluck one of my feathers and pain shoots through my back. I quickly spin around. I flap my wings and the fog whirls around, but no one is there. It must have been my imagination. I tell myself and I carry on with my search for an exit. On my way I hear whimpers. My curiosity leads me towards the sound and i find a girl leaning against a tree, crying.
She has a white dress on and her legs are folded as she cries into her hands. Her skin is pale and her dark brown hair is pulled into a bun. She continues to sobs quietly as her shoulders shake. I reach up to her and place a hand on her shoulder. She stops vibrating and becomes still.
"Whats the matter?" I ask, but she remains quiet.
She slowly raises her head and a Roccia stares at me. She smiles wickedly at me with yellow teeth and I shudder from fright. I step back, but before I could run she grabs a hold of my ankle. She yanks me toward her and I stumble backwards, falling onto my back. She crawls over me and leans against my chest. I stare, frozen and scared.
She brushes a cold hand against my face, her cold fingers softly touch my face. She kneels forward seductively, but then suddenly her eyes widen and she screams loudly. Around me pasty human figures pop out of the earth. They dig themselves out of their graves and raise crawling towards me.
Each one of them look alive but very pale. They are all young females, I notice. and people that I met before. They are my victims, which are back from the dead for revenge.
They stare with hallow eyes and each of them attack me. They grab my wrist, my ankles, and my wings. I struggle from their hold, but I am too late and is already pinned down. I feel more plucking and notice the bodies are responsible for this pain.
They bite into my flesh gnawing. They tear my clothes searching for more skin to bite. Roccia stays there on my chest and bites my lip as she tears a piece off. It's endless pain. They scratch and bite, I bleed and scream, but then quickly heal. Pain is all I feel and it hurts so much that my body becomes completely numb.
The anger I feel becomes pain and something inside of me explodes. I yank the bodies off of me and hear a loud roar coming from within me. They become frighten and one by one their souls drift from their bodies leaving corpse everywhere. The souls scream in pain and they all vanish into a gem that is around my neck. I look down at the crystal and notice it's the Tearlet.
I look around me and find the bodies on the floor. They could be mistaken that they have fallen asleep, but the scared expression frozen on their face says otherwise. I step over them and continue walking. A figure stands yards away from me and I notice it is someone I know. She walks to me and stares with worried eyes as blood drips from my face.
She must have came to take me away. Away from this nightmare. Angels do watch over you. I tell myself. She opens her arms for me and my heart rattles. Tears blur my vision and I run up to her welcoming arms. She smiles, but then I am too late.
Before i reach her, her soul forcefully escapes her chest and her eyes roll back into her head as she drops. I run to her lifeless body and cry my heart out to her. I kiss her cheeks and lay against her chest sobbing. I finally manage to choke out a sentence, "I am so sorry..." to the dead body that cannot hear me say these words.
