Ch. 9-

"That is what I was getting to until you had interrupted me, rudely." He clears his throat and dabs at the sweat that collected on his forehead, "Mr. Sherman said that he wanted to sue you or place you in jail for Battery."

I cuss under my breath, I knew something was fishy. Richard wouldn't have went down without bringing someone down with him.

"It was self defense!" I yell.

"Lower your tone of voice." He says.

"Yes sir."

"Now, self defense? For yourself?"

"No, Mr. Pearson. I was protecting Sky. Richard could have hurt her if I wasn't there." I say trying to calm myself.

"After speaking with Ms. Williams she agrees that nothing happened to her that she didn't want."

My eyes widen. "That's bullshit. She clearly didn't want it. What do you mean?" My breath quickens.

"Well, I can't say what she told me, that is personal information, but what I can say is that I have proof that you attacked Richard and I am here to help you out."

"Help me how?" I say irritated.

"Well, I spoke with Mr. Sherman and we made an agreement on keeping this school business, but instead you have to get punished. So, I have decided that you are going to do some school hours." He says.

"What's that?"

"School hours are like community hours. You have weeks of doing school hours during your free time, which is lunch." He says.

I stare at him in disbelief, "What must I do to finish them?"

"Here is a booklet that would describe what you have to do. Just read the first page."

He pushes a packet towards me and I flip through the "booklet" to the first page. On that page it has "School Hours" as a title in bold print. The paper looks like this:

School Hours

A student from classes of 9th through 12th that attend Oak Wood Academy must abide the rules. If a student does not follow them, depending on the severeness, they would or could be suspended or expelled.

A student has three warnings. The first time they get into trouble they get a warning and would have to make up for the wrong they have done by following the 'school hours'.

To follow this an individual must use their lunch time to complete the activities given. These activities include helping a staff member of any kind: Janitor, Teacher, Cook, Librarian, ect. Choices can vary.

The second and third warning have diffrent measures. Read further in the packet to find out.

Signed by the principle of Oak Wood Academy,

Mr. Pearson

I finish reading it and lay the papers down on the desk. Mr. Pearson places on reading glasses and signs a paper. He then looks over the glasses at me, folding his hands on the table.

"Mr. Alamy, I would have to place you under helping the janitors for your school hours, but because that is booked, you are going to help the Librarian."

"We have a library?" I ask.

Mr. Pearson sighs, "Yes it's on the 5th level. The attic."

I groan and stand, "Is that all?" I ask and Mr. Pearson continues.
