This is a work of fiction but some words came from someone dear to me.
HE IS MY SUCCESS
"Baby, can you hand me that knife?" utos ni Chris habang pinapanood ko siyang magluto.
Nag-offer kasi siyang magluto para sa hapunan dito sa bahay. Its only the two of us sa kusina since nasa sala naman ang parents at mga kapatid ko.
Honestly, magaling magluto ang boyfriend ko. He's so good with knives and di mo talaga mapigilang mamangha habang panoorin siyang hinihiwa ang karne, ang ilang vegetables para sa luto. His fingers know how to move. Rawr.
“I know how to cook pero paano mo ginagawa yan?" tanong ko sa kaniya as he minced the onions.
“Oh, this?" he smiled. That boxy smile.
He made the knife leap from one hand to another saka kumindat sa kin, “Gusto ko lang talaga magluto kaya ganon. I always wanted to be a chef, you know."
“Woah, but why did you took Criminology?"
“There are dreams that are supposed to succeed within." He smiled and leaned on the counter, “Katulad nito, I ended up being good with knives dahil natutunan ko din ito habang nag-aaral para maging pulis. Being someone to bring justice is my dream too."
"Oh, so nalilitohan ka, ganon?"
He shook his head, “No." Chris pursed his lips, “I can always learn to cook without pursuing my dream to become a Chef. You see, baby, minsan may mga pangarap tayo sa buhay na di kailangang ipangalandakan sa iba kung maachieve mo ito."
I stared at him.
“To be successful is not all about having money, cars, business achievements and have a big brand. For me, being successful is to be able to get through life, learn more things and have this peace of mind." he stretched his hand to me para subuan ako ng maliit na piraso ng cheese.
I opened my mouth and ate it habang nakikinig.
“Sa panahon ngayon, when we say about success, iniisip ng iba na tungkol ito sa isang business o di kaya dahil naging mayaman ka na. That's what everyone thought about success. And success can bring you happiness daw."
When the oil on the pan was heated, agad din niyang inilunod sa nagbubukal na mantika ang ahos at bombay.
“But, happiness doesn't happen during success. Happiness happen in your journey to success. Do you get me, baby?"
I awed.
He chuckled nang hindi ako makasagot and added, “And, baby, having you beside me is my biggest success." He winked.
Hindi ko na alam kung ano ang sasabihin ko.
He just put words to my meaningless world.
If I were too grey, I bet he just put a single pint of yellow into me.
And he is my yellow.
Thank you for readddingg!🧡
