"So can you please explain to me everything that just happened?" Kira asked as she followed Anakin through the halls of the Jedi temple. Anakin seemed particularly moody after the meeting ended. "You're my new padawan." Anakin said. "As if I didn't have my hands full already with the other one." He muttered. "Okay that's great and all, but what the hell is a padawan?" "Apprentice." Anakin snapped. "You're my apprentice in the ways of the Jedi." "The what?" "You ask too many questions." "Well you aren't giving enough answers." "You and Ahsoka will get along perfectly." He said as he rolled his eyes. "Once again, that's great 'E.T.' But what are the Jedi? And the force?" Anakin pinched the brim of his nose before he finally stopped walking. "So many questions." He muttered. "A Jedi is someone who uses and studies the force and uses it to keep peace and justice in the galaxy." "And what's the force?" "The force is the energy that connects every object. You know, your 'special powers' are possible through the force." "Oh okay." "You're still completely clueless aren't you?" "Oh absolutely."

"General. It's good to see you as always." Rex greeted Anakin at the 501st barracks. "But what brings you here?" He could tell Anakin seemed a little on edge. "I'd like to introduce you to my new padawan." "New?" Rex questioned with a raised brow. "But what about Commander Tano?" Anakin let a small chuckle slip from his lips. "Oh she's still my padawan too. I just have two now." "Two?" Rex questioned again. "Is that allowed?" "No. It's not. But they made an exception." Anakin replied. "This is Kira Stacey." Anakin gestured to the girl at his side. "My new padawan, also known as the girl we brought back from earth." Rex looked from Anakin to the brunette at his side. "It's nice to officially meet you miss Stacey." He said and Kira looked up at him curiously. "You're one of those clone soldiers aren't you?" She asked as she tilted her head. Rex nodded. "Yes ma'am. I'm General's skywalker's captain." "Huh." Kira said with a nod and her eyes looked around the barracks, faintly reminding her of home. Seeing that she was slightly distracted, Anakin turned back to Rex. "I can't get rid of her." He said in a much more quiet and desperate tone. "Could you maybe look after her while I explain the situation to Ahsoka?" Rex's eyes narrowed. "General, with all due respect, I am not a babysitter for your padawans." "Please." Anakin continued. "Just for a few hours. And I am your superior. I can make you do as I say." Rex sighed. "Fine. She can stay here for a bit but no long then a few hours." "Thanks Rex."

As Anakin left the barracks Fives and Echo entered. Their faces lit up when they noticed Kira speaking with Captain Rex. "Hey!" Fives called out and Kira looked over in their direction. "It's the earth girl! Kira, right?" Fives asked. "How'd it go with the Jedi council?" Echo asked as the two approached Kira and Rex. "Miss Stacey is now Anakin's new padawan." Rex informed them both. "New? But what about-" "He has two. Both Commander Tano and now Miss Stacey." Echo asked but Rex interrupted him, answering his question before it was asked. "Well, welcome to the republic." Fives said with a grin at Kira before nudging his brother Echo playfully. "I think I speak for both of us when I say that we look forward to working with you." Fives added with a wink and Rex and Kira both shared a look. "I'm going to pretend I didn't just see or hear that." Rex said and Kira giggled. "Whatever." She said dismissively before crossing her arms over her chest. "I look forward to serving another military. Quite honestly, I couldn't imagine my life without it." "Hold on," Fives said and the men all exchanged wide eyed looks of wonder and surprise. "Another military?" "You mean you were in an army?" Fives asked and Kira laughed again. "Oh yeah, I was part of the military on earth. Not the army, but my area of expertise was the Air Force." "The what?" Echo asked curiously. "The Air Force." Kira said and seeing as how it still didn't register she tried once more to explain it in much simpler terms. "I flew planes." "Oh."
