The lulling sound of a hospital heart monitor and the buzz of doctors caused Kira's eyes to open. "Hello again Kira." The familiar voice of the daughter caused Kira to crack a small smile. "Am I dead this time?" She asked and the woman with green hair shook her head. "No, Kira, you are not." "Then where am I?" "You are where you need to be." And that's when it hit her. A traditional hospital room, IV's, hospital bed. She was in her mother's hospital room. She walked over to the edge of the bed. "Kira," The daughter's voice gently spoke to the girl. "You can't save her." She added and Kira bit her lip. After years of abuse, the body of her mother had finally given in. No procedure seemed to be able to help her. Mel Stacey was dying. "But I have all this power surely-" "No." The daughter cut her off. "Some things we just can't change and some people we just can't save." She added softly. Kira sighed as she looked down at the woman who seemed to sleep softly in her coma. "It's time to let go." "I can't." "You have to." her words were harsh, but so is nature. Nature has no mercy for anyone. It takes without hesitation and it does not discriminate. Kira's hand traced over the face of her mother. She leaned down and pressed a kiss to her forehead. "Shalom mamma." She spoke softly, addressing her with peace in their native language, against her skin. "I love you."

"Kira." The daughter spoke once the moment between mother and daughter was over. "I have something else to show you." And kira watched as the majestic woman walked into a light. She was hesitant at first, but at this point with all the shit she had seen what was the worst that could happen? She followed the woman into the light. "Where'd you come from?" A girl's voice pulled Kira from the daze left on her by the light. She looked over to see a girl sitting on the hood of a car. She had a glass bottle in her hand. Kira looked around to see she was in a large field on earth. It was the middle of the night and the stars in the sky were brighter then she had ever seen them. "Want a drink?"

"Who are you?" Kira asked as she walked over to the girl who sat on the hood of the black car. "My name's Edith River. But you can just call me River." She replied before offering Kira a bottle. Hesitantly, Kira took the bottle and looked down at it. Written on it in bold letters were "SMIRNOFF ICE GRAPE" Kira smiled to herself before opening the bottle. "You've got good taste." She replied. "Thanks. These were my mom's favorite too." "Your mom?" "Yeah." She replied. The more Kira looked at her the more familiar she realized this girl was. "Do I know you?" She asked blatantly. "You just look really familiar and I feel like I've seen you before." Kira added and the girl shook her head. "I don't think so." "You got a last name?" Kira asked and River hesitated before replying. "Stacey." Kira felt her blood run cold. "What's your mom's name?" River narrowed her eyes at her. "Kira." Then it hit her like a brick. "You're Kira's girl?" She asked, the sound of her own name rolling off her tongue was weird to her. "Sure am. You know her?" Kira chuckled. "Yeah I do." She said before taking another sip of her drink. "Your mom was a pretty cool lady." "Yeah that's what all my uncles keep telling me." "Your uncles?" Kira asked with a raised brow. "Who's your- no wait I know." River raised a brow at her. "You're strange." Edith said which only made Kira chuckle. "You have no idea."
