I don't think I've ever wished to be home faster.

Avani and Anthony decided to walk around the strip mall down the street from the restaurant and Sierra decided to join them.

Meanwhile, Josh, Mikayla, and I are sitting in his car. Me in the passenger, Josh in the driver, and Mikayla in the backseat.

As the night fell upon us it became colder, Josh had pulled out a plain grey hoodie from the trunk for me before we had gotten in the car.

It was dead silent as the heat was on high and coating our bodies with a good greeting of warmth. The sounds of light rainfall deafening us.

Our seatbelts were off while I sat against the door of the passenger seat with my knees curled to my chest as I pick at my cuticles.

"So... Josh," Mikayla starts, "how's your social media going?"

"Uh, great actually," he folds his mouth into a line. "In the millions now,"

"Well, Me too, maybe we could help each other out." She tells him in a matter-of-fact voice.

I can hear him sigh, "that's great,"

"What is wrong with you? Four months ago you were all over me and then I made a tiny mistake and you decided to take off." Mikayla huffs, leaning closer in between the seats.

Josh aggressively rolls his beautiful eyes, "no, Mikayla, it wasn't a tiny mistake! You're the one that went behind my back. Not the other way around." He continues to stare at the ignition before continuing, "you know why go find Sierra or whoever."

My eyes widen a bit in shock.

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me, out." He tells her sternly.

She gasps before he unlocks the doors and she hesitantly opens it and leaves the car with a loud slam causing me to flinch.

The silence fills the car again, neither of us daring to shred a single line of words.

I take this as a moment to admire his features, his eyes are cast downwards, his hair slightly damp from the rain, his button-up shirt was undone near his neck, exposing some of the upper areas of his chest.

My shin is throbbing with pain, but I'm doing my best to ignore it.

It's been ten minutes of life-threatening quietness that I'm permitted to say something. Anything. "Josh?"

I look at him, he doesn't move an inch aside from his chest moving up and down slowly.

"Josh-"

He interrupts, "This is all my fucking fault Savannah," his voice was cracking terribly, was he crying?

"Josh, what're you talking about?" I move closer and reach my hands gently onto his face and lift it.

His eyes were red and glossy, tears hoping to break through their barrier. "This... she- it's all my fault, she did this to me, I fucking hate her."

"What happened, baby?"

His chair was scooted far back enough that I made the executive decision to move my hands to his broad shoulders and throw myself over the middle to straddle his lap.

Why am I being so clingy right now?

He takes notice, his mouth agape before he shuts it, and looks into my eyes. "I... she... I dated her last year for a while- and she was," he lets out a sob. "She slept with many other guys Sav, the whole time."

His forehead clashes with the open area of my shoulder. He's never told me much about his past, what makes him want to do it now? Was it vulnerability?

I instinctively wrap my arms securely around his shoulders, my hands massaging his scalp.

He wraps his arms tightly around my waist. We hold each other firmly enough to a point that feels like we can't let each other go, we felt like one being.

"Thank you, Savannah. For everything."

When we pull up in my driveway after dropping Anthony and Avani off at their houses, we don't move.

"I leave for my dad's Sunday morning," I tell him in the spite of the moment.

"When will you be back?" He questions, sincerely.

I sigh, "next Saturday, at 6."

He looks at his shoes, debating in his head what should be said next. "Sav, will you sleepover tonight?"

"Yeah, let me go grab my stuff, give me five minutes."

I open the car door and quickly run into the house and up the stairs. I hear the sound of faint television coming from down the hall in my moms' room.

Ignoring it for now, I open my door and grab a spare backpack and stuff in everything I'll need: toothbrush, shirt, shorts, face wash, moisturizer.

I knock on my moms' bedroom door, she opens it quickly.

"Hey mom, I'm staying the night at Josh's if that's alright?"

She has her blonde hair down and frizzy, she's dressed in a navy blue robe and white hotel slippers. "Sure, honey." She plants a kiss on my forehead and a pat on my shoulders.

"Thanks, mom, love you!" I call down the hall to her as I'm nearly slipping down the stairs. She says it back just as I'm shutting the front door.

The rain is now pouring and Josh is sitting in the car on his phone with the windshield wipers on high, I run into the passenger seat and shut the door as quickly as possible.

He stares at me, just not in my eyes, somewhere lower. I look down to where he's looking to realize that the ram had now made my white shirt see-through enough to see my grey bra very distinctive.

"Hey!" I pull my backpack to my chest, hoping to cover my somewhat exposed torso.

"Sorry, babe." He shrugs with a sly smile before pulling out on the road.
