I wake up to my phone vibrating endlessly. I pick it up seeing tons of texts from my new friend group.
!Girlies!
Avani: heyyy
Charli: Hi!
Avani: so you guys, are y'all free Friday night?
Dixie: I am
Charli: me and you both sista
Addison: I should be
Avani: Sav?
Avani: hello?
Me: sorry I just woke up:(
Dixie: it's 12 o'clock
Me: and? :)
Avani: are you free Friday??????
Me: I think so why?
Avani: sleepover at my place!
Me: ok:))))
Charli: put those chins away.
Me: :)
We text aimlessly for more than I expected. I go downstairs pouring a bowl of peanut butter Chex then pouring milk after. I sit at the counter scrolling through Tik Tok while munching on the wonderful tasting cereal. Somehow I find myself scrolling through Josh's Tik Toks and admiring the way he dances, trying too hard. I laugh looking at who he followed, he follows all our friends and most people that go to our school. Avani has nearly 17 million followers, Charli has nearly 50 million, Dixie has 20 million, Addison has 34 million, and so on. Wow, they're basically famous. I try ignoring that my new friends have fans and I'm here being a loner as usual. I get another text from the group chat asking if we can go shopping Friday before going back to Avani's house and o gladly agree. I desperately need a new swimsuit.
The day drags on, I read a little, but around 5:30 PM I decide on baking a cake. I think I'm going to do a 2 tier cake with frosting roses. I don't have any ingredients so I walk out the door notices my parents aren't home, I grab my necessities I walk in the direction of king Soopers since it's a little bit closer than school so about a 15-minute walk.
When I arrive I walk in and grab a basket. I head straight to the boxed baking aisle and pick out what I want. I grab frosting pipes, chocolate and vanilla cake mix, food dye, and a few cans of regular vanilla frosting. I place everything in the basket. I go to check and pay about $20 for everything. I walk home while listening to my music out loud.
When I get home I get to work right away. Mixing the powder and all the other ingredients for both cakes and then put them in the oven. I sit on the couch and watch TV. I wait about an hour for them to thoroughly bake and when they're done, I cut the top off and wait for them to cool. When they're done, I take them out of the pans then add frosting to the top of the first round surface and add the smaller circular cake on top. I cover the bottom vanilla cake in icing then do the same with the chocolate. I stick it in the fridge to let it cool and go on my phone once again. I notice texts from Josh.
Josh: hey:)
Josh: t.it popper
Josh: Savannah
Josh: Sav
Josh: best friend p
Me: hey
Josh: wyd???
Me: baking a cake
Josh: you should bring me some tomorrow at school.
Me: will do:)
We text for about 15 or so minutes I I say goodbye as soon as it has been in the fridge for long enough. I take it out and grab the pipe bags the put 7 drops of red food dye into a frosting can you make it a pretty red then asserting it into the bags. I choose the flattest tip and start doing rose designs on the side. I got 4 things of frosting. I take half of another can and mix green into it then take the other half mixing a blue into it. I connect the flowers with green frosting vines then take the blue and add little ruffles on the top.
After adding every detail I am pretty impressed with it. I snap a picture then cut a slice of vanilla and put it in a bowl. I get a glass and fill it up with ice and then water. The condensation building up on the outer rims of glass always piss me off.
I enjoy my slice of cake while I watch on my block and sadly anxious when Olivia's fate is revealed. God, they always let the best characters die. After I find that out and cry for 15 minutes, I start watching Hannah Montana
As I'm watching Hannah Montana on Disney plus I hear my doorbell ring. My parents are yet still to come home. I leave them a text asking when they'll be home then go to open the door.
