"Josh!" I squeal as I come in contact with the cold water and a body plummeting on top of mine.
I gasp for air as I reach the surface, splashing the mystery person with water.
"Payback!" Its Josh, the Boyce was far too familiar to not recognize.
"Oh, whatever," I try swimming away, just to be pulled back against his hard chest.
His lips plant a light kiss to the side of my throat, facing us away from the rest of the group. "Why? Do you want other ways of payback?" He asks with his sinister smirk painted onto his lips.
I bite my lip in confusion, what does he mean? I push the thoughts to the back of my head.
By the time everyone is in the pool, the waves have gone off, forcing us into the more shallow waters where I could stand. There were minor moments when we would push each other into the water playfully and go down the water slides. There was even a time when we went into the hot tub for a few minutes then got out because of the blazing water burning our fragile skin.
It was currently noontime and we walked around the recenter, I in my light washed jean shorts and my soaking bikini top, looking for the food court that Avani had informed us about.
When we find it, we all walk up to the counter and look at the menu. I decide on ordering a slice of cheese pizza and lemonade while they all order their stuff. I end up paying five dollars for my meal and start munching on the melted cheese bread on our way back to the pool.
My hair was drying slowly as usual and I and Josh sit on our towel, while the others sit on their own.
I nibble on my pizza as Josh takes large bites out of his burger and occasionally eating a few fries. As he listens intently to Anthony, Avani, and Dixie's conversation I take five fries from his little tray, causing him to slap away my hand.
"Hey!" He shines making me shrug and stuffs them in my mouth.
"I only have a slice of pizza. I'm hungry!" I scowl.
"Fine! Only a few though," he warms, slowly prying his hand away as I lean mine forward snatching a few more fries.
I and Chase and Payton end up having an intriguing conversation about sports and whatnot before we end up heading back into the locker rooms to change and go home. Avani offered a ride home and I gladly took her up on the offer knowing it was supposed to thunderstorm around the afternoon at 4.
I don't bother fully changing before slipping on my sweatshirt and shoes. I check my phone, seeing notifications from my mom and dad, asking about when I'd be home and I tell them we are leaving now.
Before we all get into our cars to leave and drop each other off, I hug everyone goodbye and get in the passenger of Avani's car with Charli and Dixie.
"Okay. Enlighten us," Avani starts, grinning at me as she puts her keys in the ignition. "What is really going on with you and Josh? And why did it take so long to get here?"
"Honestly, I don't even know. Before we left your house, we had another moment..." I glare, biting my lip, "...in the car."
"Well what happened?" Dixie shouts, scaring me in the process.
"We..." I sigh, "...kind of had a make-out session." I make an "eek" face as they all laugh or smile.
"Well, I think it'll work out between you two," Charli assures me.
"Whatever," I comment.
When Avani drops me back off at my house, I thank her and go through the front door and straight to my bedroom.
My parents weren't home meaning that they were either working or grocery shopping. Glad I didn't go.
I sit in my bedroom, grabbing my book, and starting to read.
It was seven o'clock and I was currently on page 158, reading intensely when my phone starts going off.
Josh: Savannah
Josh: answer
Josh: I need to know if you are alive.
Josh: I'm coming over!!!
Me: great...
Josh: what? You don't wanna see me?
Me: ofc I do.
Josh: good because you don't have a choice
I await his arrival l take this fifteen minutes to shower and clean up a bit.
When I'm done with my humid shower, I wear running shorts and a dusky green sweatshirt with the words "sweet thing" written in cursive on the middle chest. I head downstairs knowing he'll be here soon. I make a quick grilled cheese sandwich and sit on the couch and answer a few snap chats and sending ugly faces back.
When I hear the doorbell ring I text Josh telling him it's unlocked and he obliges and walks right in.
"Hey," he greets, phone in hand as he walks over to the couch and has the couch sink when he sits.
"Hola,"
"What do you wanna do?" He asks, pulling out his phone. "Wanna watch Tik Toks with me?"
"Sure," I scoot a bit closer to him so we both can see the phone screen as he scrolls through videos. We laugh our heads off for most of them.
Somehow after a course of 10 minutes, I had ended up with my head on his chest and his arm around my waist while still scrolling through endless amounts of fifteen-second videos.
"I'll ask my parents when they'll be home," I tell him as he nods in return knowing he'll probably have to leave soon.
Me: when will you guys be home?
Mom: your father and I have a shift until 2 am downtown so we checked into the hotel for the night.
Mom: you'll be staying home alone for the night so make sure the doors are locked. Love you!
