"Where are you guys? We are almost there," Chase informs us practically screaming through the phone.
"S-sorry Savannah left her bikini inside." Josh glares a sinister smirk at me. "We're on our way now,"
"Ok, hurry up please." And with that, the phone is hung up and I giggle and lean back.
I scare the s.hit out of myself when I hear a loud horn go off signaling that the wheel has been pressed. "I'm so stupid, damn," I curse myself out as he brushes out my hair with his fingers.
"Says the one who isn't supposed to be in my biology class," he retorts with a scoff.
"Whatever," I mutter, hopping off of his lap and back into the passenger seat with a sigh. He puts his keys in the ignition, starting up the car and driving away up the street before making a left out of the neighborhood.
When we arrive, the recenter looks brand new, just built, it has a whole wall that is all clear glass with a slanted roof, the entrance is three separate metal doors with glass panels in the middle.
"When was this built?" I question as he hand rests at the small of my back, leading me inside.
"Back in May," he enlightens me.
"Makes sense." We walk through the heavy doors to see Avani getting us wristbands I suppose. As we walk over to where our friends are sat, he brings his face down to brush his lips against my earlobe making a shiver run through me.
"We'll try that again later," he whispers, only loud enough for me to make out what he was saying.
What does that mean?
"Took you guys long enough," Addison snarls, then reaches over to hug me. "But now that you're here, we can go change!" She tugs at my arm, gesturing for Charli, Dixie, and Avani to follow.
The locker room had half-sized lockers throughout the sitting area inside that were colored a light gray. There was an area with a full wall mirror running across the painted brick wall with five sinks scattered on a countertop. Across the bathroom, stalls were wight showers with a stall door and a curtain inside. Very modern.
I put my bags and penny board in a locker, trying to squeeze it in then dig out my bathing suit.
As I'm half-naked in front of my girlfriends, slipping on the top, Avani sparks up a conversation. "Addison," she starts with a grin, "who is this Bryce guy you're always talking about?"
"Well... I guess you could say that he is my love interest." She is beaming with joy as she continues. "I think he might ask me out,"
"You're joking?" I screech I'm excited. "Damn girl, you are really getting the guys!"
"So by the way, I'm inviting him to our friends giving," Avani hands her the two remaining envelopes.
"Aw that's so sweet, thank you, I'm sure he'll love to come and meet you guys."
We all continue to dress in our bathing suits, as the boys were probably already waiting outside of the locker rooms. Once I'm changed, I tell the girls that I'll wait with the boys and I do so. When I walk out they're all talking about god knows what as I sneak up behind Payton.
He was wearing regular sky blue swim trunks with banana designs on it. I nearly blow my cover by laughing at his childish clothing. I slightly slap his bare shoulder, making him jump back onto me.
"Jesus, you scared me!" He squeals.
"Not my problem." I shrug, walking over to stand in between Anthony and Josh. I suddenly have the audacity to palm slap both their abs, not hard.
"Bro what the h.ell!" Anthony squeaks,
okay maybe I did it a little hard
I snort before covering my mouth. "Oops, my bad." I paste on a plastic smile with a hint of sarcasm.
The strong arm of Josh is swing over my shoulders and latches onto my neck, head locking me into his side. "Little-" he starts jokingly but is cut off by the women's door opening with the four remaining girls stepping out in tiny bikinis, barely covering anything. How are they comfortable doing that?
I ignore it as everyone walks in front of me and Josh, towards the pools. As we're walking, he keeps his arm around me and starts rubbing his hand on my barely covered chest and picks up my necklace.
"Since when have you worn this?" He asks, stopping to look at the gold chain hanging from my neck.
"My mom got it for me for my birthday," I grin, looking down as he removes his hand and continues to walk.
"When was your birthday?"
"October nineteenth," I inform him as we reach the water park area. It had an area with fake grass and what looked like a wave pool then next to that had slides going into an even large larger pool and what looked like a hot tub to the left of it. This place alone is ginormous. I can't even imagine how many square feet this takes up.
I stand in awe as I feel the grip of Josh's hand pull my wrist towards the fake grass with everyone else as they place down a few towels.
"Oh, I didn't know we were supposed to bring towels," I stand in confusion.
"Oh, sorry, I thought I told you," Avani looks guilty as she stands up, her along with everyone else adverts their eyes towards Josh as his cheeks flush.
"You can share one with me." He states bluntly. I nod, pursing my lips and biting the inside of my cheek, a habit I Had picked up from my father.
And now I'll be sharing a towel with Josh.
"Well, what're we waiting for?" Charli says suddenly making me distracted from my thoughts as I feel strong arms wrap around my waist, and carrying me towards the deep end of the water.
