Closing her eyes and expelling a sigh, Y/n sat up from the ground.

Letting her tired eyes open she squinted as they adjusted to the morning sun. In the forrest where she laid, surrounding her were Askeladd's men. Beside her, was Thorfinn.

The girl stretched her arms, it appeared that she was the first out of everyone to wake up. What surprised her the most was the fact that even Askeladd, her father, was sleeping as well. Groaning, she stood up to her feet not knowing that the small noises she made stirred the boy laying beside her out of his sleep.

"...Y/n...?" Thorfinn's voice was low and scratchy, his words barely making it to Y/n's ears.

Last night, Askeladd and his band were supposed to raid a village. But for reasons unknown to them, Askeladd stopped in the forest and decided to camp out there for the night and raid the village the next day.

"Hey Thorfinn." She whispered, careful not to wake up anyone else. This morning she wanted to part from the group, and head into the village. Of course, since she was a child this was something she could get away with. In addition, even with her heavy accent she still understood and could speak english.

Everyday was the same as a viking.

So escaping out to villages like this was an escape. Even if it was short lived, it was refreshing every once in a while to get away.

Dropping her sword to the ground, she abandoned it. This caused a now fully conscious Thorfinn to raise his brow.

"What're you doing?" He asked, getting up himself and following behind Y/n.

"I'm heading to the village.." Y/n said simply before looking down to Thorfinn's daggers, "you could probably get away with carrying those on your waist." She pointed down at his fathers dagger.

"There's no way I could carry a big sword like mines into the village. It would blow my cover," Y/n explained while shrugging her shoulders nonchalantly.

"The village..?" Thorfinn questioned her once again, bringing both of his hands behind his head as he walked.

"Yes." A small smile appeared on Y/n's face when the village came in sight, "It's nice to pretend every once in a while."

"......Pretend?" And again, a question fell from his lips.

"You know what I mean Thorfinn." Y/n rolled her eyes, patience wearing thin as she wished Thorfinn hadn't followed her out of the forest leading to the village.

A smirk cracked onto Thorfinn's features and did not go unnoticed by Y/n who glanced at him hearing him chuckle.

"You don't have to be out here."
