Everyone thinks that I never told Caden about Sabrina. The truth is that I did. I had already left to albany a week after graduation. I felt guilty for not telling him so I called him. He ended up coming to see me and I told him. But because I had waited a month after I had moved to tell him, he didn't believe she was his. He denied her then left. I was pissed.

I posted that I was pregnant on Instagram and soon everyone knew I was pregnant. They just didn't know who my baby daddy was. I texted Caden and told him that I would tell everyone that I didn't know who the father was.

That secret only lasted until she was born. She came out looking exactly like him. There was no denying it, but he still did. Once all of my friends and family seen her, they knew but they didn't ask any questions. I eventually told them that I lied because he didn't know. They still believe he doesn't know.

Except for Jaden. I told Jaden that Sabrina was Cadens daughter. I told him not long after I told everyone that Caden didn't know about Sabrina. I couldn't lie to him, but I made him promise not to say anything. Not even to Caden.

That was almost 9 years ago. I never thought I would ever see him again. But now here I am standing in his office starring off into space while my partner, who doesn't know that he is Sabrina's father, is questioning him about his possible money laundering and fraud.

"Thank you for your time Mr. Scott. We appreciate it. " Stephanie says bringing me out of my trance. She shakes his hand and he turns to me. I just stare at him.

"Agent Davis... May I speak with you in private? " He says.

"I'll be waiting outside. " Stephanie says. I nod.

"What is it that you need to speak to me in private for? " I ask.

"I wanted to see how you've been."he says sitting behind his desk.

" You don't want to ask about your daughter? "I put one hand on my hip and the other on the back of the chair.

" Tania... "He stresses. He sighs then looks up at me.

" No, it's okay. I know how you feel. But I think.. No I know, you made the biggest mistake of your life by doing what you did. Let me know when you come to your senses. Just don't wait 18 years. It'll be too late then. "I turn and leave his office.

                   ••••••••••••

When we get back to the bureau, I go to my office and sit at my desk. I sit in silence and think about what happened. I shake my head. I take out my phone and scroll through my contacts. I scroll pass Dylan's name. I almost stopped and called her but I stopped myself from doing that. I continued down until I got to Jaden. I pause then hit the call button.

"Hello? "

"Jaden? "I ask, my voice cracking, but I will myself not to cry.

"Tania, what's wrong? " He asks concerned.

"I'm working a case and it lead us to Caden. "

"What do you mean? Is he in trouble or.....? " He asks.

"No he's not in any trouble right now but I seen him. " My sadness start to turn to anger.

"Uh oh, what happened? "

"He had the audacity to ask how I am but doesn't say a word about his daughter. " I say.

"He's going to regret not being there for her these past 9 years when she gets older. He needs to step up and be the father that she deserves. " Jaden says exasperated.

"One thousand percent. It's absolutely upsetting that he denied her, especially when she asks about her father. " I said.

"She asks about him? " He asks shocked.

"Mhmm." I hum.

"What do you say? "

"That he loves her and that's all that matters. It eats me alive because I'm lying to her. " I sigh.

"What if he never steps up. You know I've tried talking to him about her but it's like talking to a brick wall. " Jaden mutters.

"I don't know what will happen but I am and will, continue to try to give her the best life possible. If it's not having Caden in her life, then so be it. "I state.

" You're a great mom to her. All you need to worry about is raising your daughter the best you can. Don't worry about him. "

"This is starting to sound like the conversation we had when I was pregnant with her. "

"But what I'm saying is true, then and now. " He says.

"Yea. I just wish that he was here from the very beginning. I want to know why he denied her. Even after he seen her, he still denied her. I mean, just by looking at her, you know she's his. "

"Maybe I can convince him to come to the wedding? Then he can see how you are with her and maybe that will change his mind. "Jaden is talking about Andrew and Kaileah's wedding next month.

" Maybe. I don't want any drama that night though. It's a special night. There doesn't need to be any problems. "I say and lean back in my chair. I take out my file and start working on my computer.

" I'll mention it. Hey do you want to meet up for dinner or lunch next week? "Jaden asks.

" Yea sure. I'll bring Sabrina. "I say.

" Ok, I'll call you later then, I have to get back to work. "

"Me too. Talk to you later." We say our goodbyes and hang up just when Stephanie burst through my office door.

" What are we doing for your birthday? "Stephanie asks. I shrug.

"I don't know but I was thinking about the case. I don't think he's doing it. I think it might be someone else. " I say. She furrows her eyebrows.

"Why don't you think it's him. Cause I personally think that he's a rich, spoiled, trust fund baby who wants more. " I shake my head.

"Yes, he's a rich, trust fund baby but why would he leave a trail for everyone to find. It just doesn't make any sense, and I know he wouldn't do this. " I mutter.

"How would you know if he would do this or not? " She asked confused.

"I know him. " I say slowly.

"What do you mean you know him? "

"He's Sabrina's father. "
