You woke up in a completely unacquainted yet clean minimalistic location, the air here was oddly damp, cool and aromatic. What smells so good? You asked yourself when a quick flash of memories from the last night went through your mind without any warning, which was quite superfluous.

Oh, shit.
Ho- Wh- Why did I-
Is he mad at me? Of course he is, we've only known each other for a day! Why did I even agree to drink with my boss!?

'Oh, you're awake?'

You jumped at the heard voice from behind, not hard to guess the owner. Time to apologize.

'Yes, and I am so sorry fo-' Your eyes widened at the sight.

Why is he half naked!? Did we do something? Or did he just take a shower? No, no way. He just took a shower, whatsoever.

'I am sorry for everything I have done yesterday. And for the inconvenience.'

Realizing how he was dressed, nothing but a towel, his eyebrows slightly lifted in understanding of your confusion. 'It's my fault for making you drink anyway, so it's totally fine. Wanna eat?'

'Honestly, I wouldn't mind a coffee.' You said feeling a little uncomfortable for causing him more problems but you still need to drink your life-savior anyway.

'I actually don't have any coffee, but we can hit the coffee shop on the way to work.' He said, completely chill, shrugging.

Work? Today? Again?

'Right, yeah, thanks, Boss.'

He then left the room mumbling something about dressing up and leaving in 10 minutes.

I'll think of that later. Not now. No. Everything's just fine, he saved me and I said thanks so now everything is the way it was yesterday. Damn, it's been a day since the meeting.

Even though you hate rushing, especially when it comes to guys, this time it was way too fast yet... fine?

Examining the room in search of your clothes, you pointed it in the corner of the black chair. Did he wash it or..?

'Are you ready?' Ash knocked at the door, making you speed up.

You went out of the room and saw him.

Ash decided to look mature today?

He was wearing black turtleneck and jeans with a white coat, which was apparently pricy. Also a little detail that caught your eye is his glasses. It actually looked good on him.

You both sat in his car heading to the bar and, since it was early enough, you could fully enjoy the sight of the morning New York. Even though this city is known as "always-busy-and-noisy", you still didn't think it was a bad part. You looked in the window, regarding NY's streets.

People, rushing to the work, would talk on their phones, quickly trying to sip their coffee. Kids, who would stumble, trying to keep up with the pace of adults. You were carried away by the thoughts that everyone has their own life, own problems. They are just minor characters for you, not significant nor valuable. But these people think the same about you, for them you are also just a minor character.

Time in thought flew by quickly and now you have already arrived at the coffee shop. Surprisingly, there were no people in the queue, so you immediately went to make an order.

'Good morning, what would you like to order?' The sweet lady asked.

'One big cappuccino with a pump of caramel, please. Boss?' You looked at him, obviously letting him choose a coffee to get.

'Um.. Do you have black caramel tea?' He hesitated before saying this, maybe he isn't a big coffee fan.

'Yes, sure. One big cappuccino and a black tea, correct?'

'Yes.' You answered with a friendly smile and gave money to the lady.

'Have a nice day!'

You both waited a little bit for your order and when it was finally done, you took a first sip as if it was life or death. 'Mmm, I really needed that.'

'This café is great, one very good friend of mine owns it.' Ash chatted while sitting back in the car. 'I used to constantly visit it for a cuppa, but I think that now I'm just way too tired of coffee.'

He didn't seem like a person who would talk without any important reasons for that, but he gave this casual speech to you and it made you happy. So he really is not mad at me, thank God.

Ash got the car started and you went to the bar in hush. Now you have to spend a whole day standing on your own two feet. God give me strength. You prayed to yourself, putting the uniform on.
