Odell

There was this slight awkwardness settled around us as we headed into the living room after Demi had ordered us pizza. I don't know whether she could feel it as she acted as if she didn't, but I could feel it. Maybe it's just me. I settled down on the couch, Demi curling into the opposite side. She grabbed the blanket off the back of the couch and threw it over her legs.

"What do you want to watch?"

"I-I don't mind" her eyes turned to meet mine.

"Are you okay?"

"I'm fine" I flashed her a smile, she watched me for a moment before she turned her attention back to the tv. I released a breath I didn't even realise I was holding in. I turned my own eyes to the tv as she clicked onto Netflix. She flicked through the movies until she stopped and released a sigh. My eyebrows furrowed in confusion as I turned to face her. "You okay?" she was watching me, her eyes full of something I couldn't read. She slowly shuffled herself closer to me, her eyes keeping a hold of mine. I couldn't look away from her. I was frozen in place as she sat inches from me. I could feel the heat radiating off her. Odell, you're starting to sound like a girl again. I went to open my mouth to speak but nothing seemed to come out. Why are you acting like a lovesick teenager? Oh yeah because you are. Her face was inches from mine a moment later but like earlier, before our lips could touch, there was a knock on the front door. She abruptly pulled herself away from me, staring down at her hands. She pushed herself up from the sofa, muttering something on the lines of 'sorry' before she disappeared from the living room. Why do we keep getting interrupted? Is something trying to keep us apart? Demi returned a moment later with the takeout. She lowered it onto the coffee table and then glanced down at me.

"You want anything to drink?"

"Water's fine" she nodded and then headed into the kitchen. I sighed and dropped my head into my hands, that awkward feeling has just grown 10% worse.

"You okay?" I jumped at the sound of her voice; my heart fluttered as she lightly giggled at my reaction. I just gave her a smile and nodded my reply. She lowered our drinks onto the coffee table and then lowered herself back down onto the couch.  She sat closer to me though than she did earlier. Maybe this isn't awkward for her. "I'm just going to put on a random movie while we eat" I nodded my reply. She clicked onto a random comedy and then leant to grab a slice of pizza. I watched her as she took a bite, her cheeks reddening as she noticed my stare. "You just going to watch me eat?" her eyes turned to meet mine as a smirk settled on her gorgeous face. I felt my face heat up as I turned to the pizza. I leant and grabbed a slice, laughing as she watched me take my first bite.

"You just going to watch me now?" she lightly giggled, pulling her attention from me and back to the tv.

We silently ate and watched the movie which was actually quite funny. I'd never watched it before, never even heard of it and I couldn't tell you the name but it was actually quite good. I every so often found myself glancing to Demi who loudly laughed. Her laugh bounced off the walls and it made me fall so much harder for her. Harder than you already have, Odell? I shook my head of my thoughts, glancing to Demi as she sighed.

"Thank you for agreeing to stay."

"You didn't give me much choice" I laughed as her eyes rolled. "You said you felt lonely, I don't want you to feel like that."

"I never thought my life would be like this when I was younger."

"I don't think anyone does" she glanced to me, nibbling lightly on her lower lip.

"If either of our phones ring or a knock sounds on the door, just ignore it" my eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"What do you mean?" she didn't reply, she just turned herself to me on the couch. She licked lightly on her lower lip as she leant into me. My heart began to pound against my chest as she settled her hand on my shoulder. The touch sent an electric current down my spine. I wanted to lean in and crash my lips to hers but I didn't want to scare her away, that's not the plan. I want to go at her pace. I want her to feel comfortable. All I could think about though, was the feel of her lips against mine. We have only kissed once before and that time didn't end well because she pushed me away and screamed at me to get out. I don't want this time to be like the last. My lips tingled as I felt her steady breath against them and I was surprised to find her fingers playing gently with the hair at the back of my neck. Her other hand came to settle on my other shoulder as she pressed her forehead to mine. I hesitantly moved my hand to settle on her waist, a little scared that she would slap it away. Her hand ran along mine that sat on her waist and a moment later, her lips brushed against mine. My eyes closed and I delicately moved my lips against hers, my entire body igniting. Her tongue came out to run along my lower lip and I smiled into the kiss as I granted her access. The kiss wasn't like the one we shared over a week ago, it was more tender, it was more loving. And I'm seriously going to sound like a girl but I love kissing her.
