Chapter 2

"Hey, wait up!" Squeesh appeared as Tommy was leading the new bunch of kids towards a nearby stream. She was out of breath as she skidded to a halt beside Sawyer who snickered and shook his head. "I'm back, sorry. I just had some questions." She breathed.

"Ok, we're headed to the stream," Tubbo said from beside Tommy. 

"It's a perfect day for swimming," Fishy commented, looking around at the group of teenagers. 

"Yeah," Tommy agreed. "It would be even better without the womans," He snorted to Tubbo who smacked him with his elbow. 

"Respect the womans," Tubbo hissed. 

"Simp," Tommy shot, dodging another blow from his friend. Tubbo glared at him but he was grinning as he lept, taking Tommy by surprise and toppled him over. Tommy let out a yelp as he tumbled down a little hill with Tubbo clinging onto him and laughing. He was about to yell at his friend and tell him it wasn't funny when his head was submerged in water, closely followed by the rest of him. 

"Got 'em!" Tubbo snickered as Tommy flailed around for a moment. "Wow, you're such a natural in water," he commented slyly. 

"You shut your mouth, Tubbo," Tommy muttered, swimming to land and snorting water out of his nose. 

"You're disgusting." Squeesh chuckled.

"You're a woman." He shot back. "Need I say more?" Fishy, Sawyer, and Fox all come down the hill, and at once Fishy shoved Sawyer into the water with a cry of pleasure. 

"Fishy!" Sawyer gasped, his head bobbing up from the water. "My clothes are wet now!" he exclaimed. 

"I know, but who-" Fishy was cut off as Fox shoved her friend in after Sawyer leaving only Squeesh and herself on the bank. "Fox! Come on!" Fishy said.

"Hey, your name's Fishy so I thought I'd see if you could swim like one." Fox shrugged innocently. 

"Yeah yeah, alright." Tommy climbed onto the bank and shook himself off, spraying Squeesh with little water droplets and making her let out a yelp. "No one shoves the king into a stream." he said, shooting Tubbo an angry look. He wasn't really angry and he knew Tubbo could tell. 

"You mean a king, your brother is still the king you know," Tubbo pointed out. 

"Yes, I'm a king, Tubbo, and you're just a nerd. Techno calls you that himself." He shot back, grinning. 

"It's an honor to be called a nerd by the one and only Technoblade," Tubbo said jokingly. 

"Do not trifle with the king!" Tommy yelled happily, leaping at Tubbo who let out a yelp as he flung them both into the stream. Tubbo and Tommy both came to the surface laughing and Tommy splashed his friend with some water. 

"I miss this," Tubbo sighed, smiling at Tommy. His brown hair was soaked and it covered one of his eyes but Tommy could still see that the other one was shining brightly. "I miss just you and me."

"I know," Tommy sighed, smiling back at his friend. "Tubbo, I've promised this before, but that promise was broken so now I'm going to promise it again," Tommy said. "I promise you that if anyone in the whole world wants to hurt you, I'll make sure they never get the chance. If someone fires an arrow at you, I'll stand in front of their bow. I promise I'll keep you safe, Tubbo, because you're my best friend and you always will be." Tommy said confidently. Tubbo looked touched by Tommy's sudden declaration and even though they were in the water he swam forwards and hugged him. Tommy allowed it for a moment before Tubbo's weight began dragging him under and he realized people were watching. "Alright alright, you're drowning me." He scoffed, pushing Tubbo away.
