Dream watched as Technoblade's sword fell to the ground and he threw himself towards his brother, crouching at his side. Dream gasped, horrified as Tommy whithered around on the ground, letting out cries of pain every so often. Squeesh had thrown a diamond blade at Tommy and it had struck him right through the gut.
"Tommy!" Technoblade yelled frantically. "No!" He yanked the sword out of Tommy's stomach, causing Tommy to let out another screech of pain, and flung it to the side. Dream realized something and darted towards Technoblade's throne, crouching behind it and yanking board after board off of the back of it.
"Ha! Your green friend is hiding!" Squeesh sneered. Technoblade didn't even seem to notice, he had torn his cape off and was trying to staunch the steady stream of blood that was flowing from Tommy's stomach.
"Please, please don't die!" Technoblade cried. Dream felt around on the inside until he found an ender chest, one he had put there for Technoblade but had forgotten to tell him about it. He flipped the lid open and sifted through his special items until he found what he was looking for and stumbled back towards Tommy and Technoblade with his item in hand.
"Move!" He cried, shoving Technoblade away with a mighty thrust. He knelt beside Tommy who was just whimpering now and had stopped moving alltogether. He knew he was in the process of dying and he had to act fast. He heard someone land on the floor and realized Squeesh must have jumped down from where ever she had been hiding and Dream heard Technoblade let out a cry of pain.
"Dream..." Tommy hissed, flinching as Dream grasped his wrist and pulled it towards him. Tommy stopped moving and Dream thrust the totem into his hand as quickly as he could before closing Tommy's fingers around it. He stared at Tommy, ignoring Technoblade and Squeesh's grunts and growls as they fought only a few paces behind him. Was I too late? He thought as Tommy didn't move. Suddenly, the totem of undying vanished and green and golden light encased Tommy. He was lifted a few feet off the ground and Dream forced himself to his feet and watched as Tommy was placed gently on his feet.
He stared at Tommy for a moment before he took in a breath and opened his eyes, gazing around in confusion. His shirt was still stained blood red and so was Techno's cape, which was on the ground at Dream's feet now, but Tommy seemed fine.
"Tommy?" Dream hissed, gripping Tommy's shoulders tightly. Tommy turned his wide blue gaze onto Dream and he took another breath.
"I'm alive," He muttered, looking at his hands.
"No!" Squeesh snarled from behind Tommy and Dream. Dream grabbed the sword that Squeesh had thrown at Tommy and handed it to him, his hands shaky.
"Go fight her, you deserve the final blow," Dream said urgently. "She killed you, it's only fair if you kill her." Tommy seemed baffled for a moment before he pushed past Dream and slashed at something. Dream turned around and gasped, dodging a blow from Squeesh that would have most likely taken off his head, before lunging and grappling onto her feet. He pulled her to the ground and she let out a cry of surprise.
"Remember me?" Tommy snarled once Dream had pinned Squeesh to the ground. Techno, Dream realized, didn't have a weapon currently because he had dropped his sword while trying to help Tommy. He had been fighting with his fists, which would explain the various bloody marks covering his body.
"You're dead!" Squeesh snarled. "I killed you!"
"Ever heard of totems of undying?" Dream sneered.
"Tommy?" Techno breathed, getting to his feet weakly and staring in astonishment at his brother. "I thought- you were- you just died." Techno stuttered, hugging Tommy tightly. Dream had never seen Technoblade cry, and technically he wasn't, but his eyes were shiny with tears and Dream even saw one slide down his face. Tommy hugged his brother back and Dream smiled.
"Let me go!" Squeesh's yell broke the moment and she struggled under Dream's grasp.
"Should I take her mask off?" Dream asked.
"No," Tommy said after a moment. Technoblade let go of Tommy and moved away, looking a little bewildered still. "If I look at someone while killing them, I'll feel guilty." Techno and Tommy all glanced at Dream, remembering a time that seemed like forever ago when Tommy had been asked to shoot Dream. Dream had removed his mask, which is why he no longer wore one now, and Tommy hadn't had it in him to fire the arrow. Squeesh said nothing.
"Fine," She snarled. "You win."
"There are no winners in war," Technoblade said. "Only men. We're just the ones who managed not to die this time." He said, his blue eyes distant. "Kill her, Tommy."
"Bye Squeesh," Tommy growled, bringing his sword down hard on the girl. She gasped, letting out a slight cry of pain before Dream got off her and watched as she struggled for a moment before slowly falling limp. Her white clothes were soon stained with blood and Tommy pulled the sword out of her, sending a splatter of blood over Dream's sweatshirt. Tommy stared at her, pain in his blue gaze before he looked away.
"Let's bring her body to a rest by Wilbur's, she deserves to be buried as well." Dream said after a moment. Technoblade nodded and picked Squeesh's body up, causing his chest to become red with blood, and headed for the door.
"My nerds," Technoblade said, setting Squeesh's body down beside Wilbur's grave. "My nerds, the nerds of Nerdburg," Techno gazed around at everyone gathered below him. "Although blood has indeed been shed, I have kept my promise to you. I swore to keep you safe, and I think I have done that fairly well for now. Tommy died in this battle but thanks to Dream and his totem of undying, Tommy is alive." Technoblade shot Dream a grateful look, although he felt it was not enough to show how grateful he really was.
"So, does he get to come back?" Tubbo asked. "Even after he tried to kill you?"
"One more thing, he didn't try to kill me," Techno said. "Squeesh did, she framed Dream." Techno explained.
"If you look closely at her hood there's a piece of green fabric missing," Dream added. "And there's only scratched on me because of battles, not because I tried to kill Technoblade."
"I told you so," Techno muttered, sharing a glance with Tommy. Dream wondered what was going on between them but he thought nothing of it. "And because I was wrong about him and wrong about Squeesh, he is allowed back into Nerdburg as one of The Trinity, which is what we call ourselves now," Techno said.
"Dream! Dream! Dream!" Everyone began to chant. Dream smiled, he was still a little shaky from only just having eaten in several days and he felt himself shaking a bit, but he ignored it. For now, everything would be alright, he could tell staring up at Technoblade that everything would be fine.
Dang Squeesh.
